I didnt think I would say this but, this is the most depressing ride I have ever seen. This ride is in terrible condition. A carousel is supposed to be the centerpiece of a park. This is just a forgotten hunk of junk. There is no operating band organ and it has been replaced by terrible digital mock band organ music sounding like something comming out of a Cheap Casio keyboard. The fake brick work around this ride is also a dissapointment. Its not as if AOL/Time Warner could not afford real bricks. In fact this whole park is one giant dissapointment. Millitary recruiters are just killing the mood here. If SFNE burned to the ground I would not miss it.

I agree that they dont take very good care of this carousel infact the Premier owned SFI was worse with carousels then they were with coasters. But AOL/Time Warner never had control of this park. there was a private owner, Then Funtime Ent., and they were bought out by Premier. I think Funtime sold of the band organ. it used to have one.

AOL/Time Warner never controled this park, and have nothing to do with it. They license their product to SFI, but that is the extent of their involvement with the parks.


What is wrong with the National Guard! If you have a problem with them, then you have a problem with me.

Damned shame that this carousel has been left to neglectful hands. Its a gorgeous Illions that deserves FAR better than its seeing. For chrissakes, its got one of only three or so American Beauty horses on it... Six Flags should be ashamed.

And Im with Cyclonic on this one - I have no problem with military recruiters. Id rather bump into them in a park than be bombarded with advertisements for unnecessary crap consumerism, any day.

my mental radio can only tune in two frequencies at amusement parks - the roller coaster wavelength and the tasty grub wavelength. all other stimulous including uncle sams pointy forefinger, sprint PCS, and mountain dew dissolve into a blanket of white noise. incidentally though, i wouldnt enlist even if i were 12 years younger, facing an indictment, had three women pregnant and just totalled my car. sorry OT.

whats worse about this coaster is that the carousel isnt being taken care of and New England has a long line of classic carousels that are taken care of. There is another carousel just 20 minutes form the park in Holyoke.
