This ride is totally mindblowing. Having already been on Top Thrill Dragster, I pretty much knew what I was in for...however, I never had a front seat ride on TTD. I made sure to wait for the front on my KK ride. What a difference a seat makes! Sitting in the front of this thing is utterly indescribable. The launch is so powerful and the way the wind pounds you in the face is just awesome. This is the single most intense thrill ride on the planet. I wont call it the best rollercoaster, because I feel there are a few others that deliver a more complete experience. However, for sheer exhiliration, Kingda Ka IS the King. It is only slightly better than Top Thrill Dragster. This is totally subjective. Sorry CP fanboys, the launch is a little bit more intense on KK to me. I felt that KK held its launch forces almost all the way to the tower, while TTD let up a bit earlier and had more coasting before the tower. I never thought there would be any difference between these two rides, but I preferred the launch on KK. I also did like the extra hill at the end. Later on my trip I did get to take a front seat ride on TTD in the evening. BIG MISTAKE. The location on the lake gives way to a bug metropolis at night. TTD basically turned me into a human flyswatter. My face and shirt were littered with dead bugs...it was disgusting. It ruined my ride. For that reason alone I would rate KK a touch higher due to this probably never being a big problem in NJ. The shoulder restraints on KK are a non-issue because they are totally unobtrusive...even the tall guys on our trip (one being 66" didnt mind them at all.
I do have one issue with KK, and that is that they only have 2 trains. This is crazy, as CP runs 5 trains on TTD. I think 4 is optimal, and KK really could use another 2 trains to speed up the loading process.
