Review of Hydra the Revenge @ Dorney Park

Something was just missing here. The initial jojo roll was interesting, but kinda pointless - there is no thrill in a roll at 5mph. The first drop was more than I expected (someone stated it was a 68 degree angle - perhaps thats it), giving a significant thrill. The rest just died. There was also some headbanging in the back seat, none really in the front on the reride. Id love to trade that slow jojo for a surprise cobra at the end. Edit: I made an error here, and really mean a corkscrew, not a cobra - sorry! Its a good coaster, just not a great one in my limited experience.

For a surprise cobra what? A cobra roll??? What the heck...the ride already has a Cobra Roll. Seriously, whoever started this trend of 7s screwed this ride over because people go in expecting a load of crap and get one

While this is an invert, and not launched, I was thinking of the end roll on Jokers Jinx at SFAmerica. - that ride tapers out, too, but makes up for it with a surprise last minute kick with a corkscrew - hey, they both start with a c.

erinys, you mean floorless. Remember, the track is on top on a floorless and on the bottom on an invert Just a friendly reminder

Hercules, thanks, I mean floorless - what is my ongoing issue with that?! When I spin upside down I lose all sense of which is top and which is bottom. Or there seems to be an impediment between my eyes, my vocabulary, and my typing fingers. Anyway, I didnt expect a load of crap - its a B&M! Its possible my expectations were too high because its a B&M. It is absolutely my second (maybe third) choice for a re-ride at Dorney.

See, my theory is that because people have read reviews saying Hydra is inferior, they go into the ride with their minds already made up that the ride will not match up against other B&Ms. What makes this ride "die" after the JoJo? What exactly is disappointing? Its pretty vague if you ask me just to say the ride "died" after the first element without anything backing it up. You even said the drop was a lot more than you expected. And yet it died after the jojo? Ok......? Im sorry, but I am feeling a resurgence in my defending of Hydra, so sorry if I offend you in any way, erinys. I just find it discouraging that a solid little ride like Hydra with a very unique and interesting layout is looked down upon just because a few enthusiasts that supposedly carry some intangible weight in determining whether a ride is good or not dubbed the ride unworthy among other floorless coasters, therefore the ride sucks to everyone with the exception of Dorney Park fanboys and...well....and me....and thats about it
