Review of Stitchs Great Escape @ Magic Kingdom

Had an opportunity to ride the attraction it was a nice ride. It is Stitch so it has to be COOL. It is promoting one of my favorite characters of the recent past. Alien Encounter never quite fit for me. Not sad to see it gone.

I really think Disneys parks are pushing Stitch on visitors. For instance, I couldnt go anywhere without someone in my family being told to feed coconut pie to a stitch doll. I do like the Stitch character, but Im over seeing Stitch everywhre I go. P.S. My sister bought that Stitch doll.

I think you are correct. Disney jumps on the winning horse and rides it as long as it can. They went from Winnie the Pooh to Stitch, now the Disney Princesses are in vogue. What will be next?

I cant understand the Infacuation with Stitch. I agree Im far older then its talgetign but I have no younger relitives that like this character. Ive seent he move and a few episodes of the TV show and its nothing fantastic. Alien Encounter shoudl have been moved to MGM not abandoned and replaced with Stitch. I like Winnie the pooh but think the play area is a waist of space.

I am 48 I have 3 children and 18 nieces and nephews and each and every one of them likes Stitch for many reasons. The movie appeals to adults and children alike and the personna created by Disney is every families mischeveous pet. You can choose not to like Stitch or his ride that is your choice. I as a grown man happen to like Stitch and find the attraction fits well and actually appeals to the "Disney" audience.

Im 27 and I like stitch and so does my daughter. By the way which she can spell better than you. Just because you dont like the character doesnt mean that it is a bad ride. I didnt like the movie Aliens so I guess by your thinking I shouldnt like the Great Movie Ride. Lets get over the Aliens movie and move on. Stitch is newer and appeals more to Disney people.

mrceagle I can usually decipher your words but what is this word? "talgetign"

Im glad you like the character. Maybe being parents you see this character in a different light. Im assuming you lie Sponge bob as well another character i find utterly annoying. thing is they take a good ride an hack it to peaces and add what some people thin is a point less character that appeals to a key target group that often dont light the dark aspects of the attraction. it cant be too fantastic when so far, granted it has far fewer reviews, it rated 1.25 points lower then the original attraction.

I feel Stitch has UNIVERSAL appeal. Stitch has fans from 2-100. I realize you are upset because Disney chose to pull a ride you found exciting. Remember too the people on this site, for the most part, are not the demographics Disney attracts. Adrenaline junkies are not their thing. Even the attractions that by Disney standards are "out there" are tame compared to some of the attractions I have seen reviewed on this site. This ride is appealing to a larger market because it tries to entertain you not scare the S#!T out of you.
mrceagle on 5/17/2006 4:13:25 PM said:
Yet Like I said in both posts before. this ride is frightenign to the younger rang that is interested in stitch. there have been complants about it. I love Disney its extreamly uniquie and they do allot to hide you from teh outside world. but these atractions that are more marketing and product bassed I get through right out of this fantasy world and into my local Disney store. which I also think have gone to hell. The classic storys Work in fatasy land. these characters just distroy the Ilusiun created in tamarow land.
taylorb251 on 5/17/2006 6:17:39 PM said:
The disney store isnt owned by disney anymore, thats why it has gone bad.
mrceagle on 5/19/2006 7:25:20 PM said:
I Shouldnt have brought up the Disney store its badly off subject. but The Disney store was going bad before it was sold off. To much Clothing (which you can buy just about anywhere) and nothing of true value. Fact is and what Im ben getting at with these two posts is these attraction have lost a bit of charm.
taylorb251 on 5/19/2006 7:43:00 PM said:
First of, where can you buy Disney quality clothing besides at the theme parks? I think the attraction has progressed in charm for me. I guess we should just agree to disagree on the ride.
mrceagle on 5/21/2006 11:40:28 AM said:
You can buy Character Related Clothing just about everywhere. From the Disney stare to Sears. Target, Kmart, Walmart, just about every clothing company has rights to Disney characters especially the popular ones like Pooh, Mickey, the princess, etc.

Mrceagle have you seen this attraction? Or have you seen only the old one?
mrceagle on 5/21/2006 8:02:53 PM said:
I have Seen theold one in person. I have Seen the New Version on video. I have had many family and friends of verying ages see this attraction and dislike it. Especialy compared to the old one.

I hear you loud and clear mrc. I am a Stitch fan and never quite wrapped my mind around George Lucas and his endeavors with Disney so my opinion is skewed toward Stitch.

Maybe you should hold your opion until you see it live. A video wouldnt do it justices.
mrceagle on 5/22/2006 12:23:00 PM said:
You right I would not be able to fully take in the sounds. But I can do without the Smells which I have heard many people complain about. If you notice I have reraited the ride and reviewed it. I will after seeing it which likely wont be for a year or two. Partially I just wish Disney would have come up with something more creative for the character and well every other character in the movie and TV show.

I have said it once Iwill say it again. I HATE THE BURP THEY BLOW IN YOUR FACE! Its disgusting. :puke:
vbarbieri on 5/22/2006 1:42:56 PM said:
That is a nasty smell
mrceagle on 5/22/2006 2:59:32 PM said:
That alone would give it a bad score. its not needed and doesnt add to the attraction. I mean the stink bug is one thing this is just uncalled for. I can guarantee that when I do see this it wont get a good score because of things like this.
nyeboy9 on 5/22/2006 8:30:24 PM said:
Its like they just threw in the smell at the last minute. Its pointless. I also think the ride operators are over smelling that smell when going into the ride.
One operator was holding his breath. They definately need to take out this ride or take out the smell.
vbarbieri on 5/23/2006 11:22:57 AM said:
I am pretty sure the ride will be here until the Stitch phase passes. The smell is a bit harsh. The smell in "Journey Through Imagination" is pretty nasty too.
taylorb251 on 5/23/2006 4:25:30 PM said:
The smell supose to be a chilli dog smell. Its not that bad. And if you havent smelled it I think you shouldnt comment about it.
nyeboy9 on 5/23/2006 5:32:13 PM said:
For you information taylorb, I have ridden on this ride and smelt the smell. I think the smell is just awful, but it can be different to other people. I just think the chili dog smell is unneeded on this ride. By the way, I feel the Journey into Imagination smell is nasty, but it isnt as bad. The smell doesnt linger with you for the rest of the day.

Im a person that doesnt like Foreign smell. I dont eat Food like Fish because the smell aggravates me so much.

I have smelled the smell and it is a tough one for me. People react differently to scents.
mrceagle on 5/24/2006 6:36:29 PM said:
Well scents bother be. any strung smell. I have Asama and things like that can set me off. COasters I hcan handle but things like that no.
taylorb251 on 5/25/2006 4:06:59 PM said:
I have never heard of smells setting off peoples "asama" before.
vbarbieri on 5/25/2006 5:42:17 PM said:
Actually taylor, while I hate to do this, I have to take MRCs side on this one, asthma can be triggered by scents or smells. This comes directly from an RN (my wife) and a Respiratory Therapist she works with.
mrceagle on 5/27/2006 12:21:32 AM said:
I cant walk through a candle shop. things like strong perfumes and after shaves set me off. I mostly thign that this smell addition isnt really needed.
