Im not sure why everyone loves this ride other than that you get soaked. The final drop is great... but the theming on this ride is awful. I mean like, horrible, compared to Splash Mountain.

Say what? The theming is a dead ringer for the Dudley Do-Right cartoons.

Another Disney fanboy.

LOL I dont see what youre talking about, man. The theming is certainly cartoony...buts its located in Toon Lagoon. Its supposed to be like the comic, and it achieves this marvelously, imo. I dont see how the theming is bad, its great, and complements the ride very well.

The theming sucks, as in, many of the scenes are just animatronics standing there with absolutely NO theming around them and you can see the rides structure. That is cheap.

...not every ride has to be a 3-D, pyrotechnic wonderhouse to be considered a well-themed ride.

Honestly --- take a look at the photos of this ride on its TPC page. Does that look like the theming sucks?

I think the themeing is ok. When i was there last year it look like alot of the paint was faded. There is no way it compares to Splash Mountains theme.

...oh my god, guys...its not supposed to! I know that comparisons are always made, but its just not appropriate here - they are two different kinds of rides. The same goes for ToT and Doctor Doom. This is just my opinion, but why do there always have to be comparisons between Disney and Universal/IoA? If thats the case, does Disney World have a launched B&M mega looper and a dueling invert with one of the most heavily themed queues in the world? Didnt think so, so Disney must suck.

I dont know how you can say that they are two different rides. They are two very good log flume rides. Many people compare them. The two things that come up is the final drop and theming. The final drop goes to RF and the theming goes to SM. I dont understand what you are aguring about. If they didnt want the theming to be as good as SM thats IOA fault no the peoples who have ridden both.

Animan hate to go against you here, but how are other people Disney fanboys, but by getting irrational about Ripsaw arent you just being an IOA fanboy? The ride is great on RF, the theming is ok compared to every flume except Splash Mountain and maybe the one in Mall of America.

I agree with coaster05. And also, how can you say that DD has the most heavily themed queue in the world if you havent been to disney?

Oh, nevermind, you said one of the most. I agree with you there.
praxis on 4/27/2006 9:17:10 PM said:
Saying SM has nicer theming than RF is one thing, I can see that. Saying the latters theming is "horrible", "awful" and "sucks"? That makes me wonder what yer smokin.

Alright, I will agree that it is unfair for me to criticize SM when I have not ridden it. That is my fault and I am sorry for it. As for being an IoA fanboy, I dont pretend to not be, so I am actually all clear there. But I will apologize for getting into about something Im not completely knowledgeable on anyway. I hate it when other people do that, and here I am doing it myself. Oh well, everyone is entitled to a few mistakes now and then. Thanks for getting me straight guys, esp. coaster and Scott.
