Review of Le Scoot @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg
1 Rating Posted by: Animan1 on 1/11/2006 9:01:00 PM
The Le Scoot log flume is a solid log flume that cant compete with more heavily themed rides (mainly Dudley Do-Right at IoA), but is a solid ride in its own right. After ascending the lift hill, you wind you the familiar twists and bends characteristic of the genre. Following this leisurely cruise, you descend one fairly small drop and head towards the shack that houses the main drop at the end. After climbing up to the level of this drop, you enter the shed and head towards a wooden, rotating ciccular saw blade, which doesnt look threatening but adds to the atmosphere. I was actually pretty impressed with the drop, not as good as Dudleys, but good fun nonetheless. The biggest thing this ride is missing is theming, of which there is very little. A good choice for families, this ride can appeal to everyone and get you wet without getting you soaked.

Since themeign seemed to be your only complaint towards thelower rating, What would you want them to add to better them it? What do you think it was laking themeign wise? was there somthing you were expacting?

I have been spoiled by Dudley Do-Right, so I have higher (and perhaps slightly unfair) expectations for all log flumes. Not only is Dudley heavily themed througout the entire ride, but it contains 3 good-sized drops, whereas Le Scoot only had 1 larger one and 1 smaller one. For theming improvements, I would suggest some more sawmill theming, since that is the nature of the area in which the ride is located. A few more drops would also make it more thrilling, refreshing, and worthwhile.

Makes sence. Not too sure were they woudl be able to insert more drops though.

No, especially since the ride is already built and has probably been operating for 20+ years. It was just a suggestion of how the ride could have been better in the first place, not of a practical improvement today.
