Review of Apollos Chariot @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg

An airtime machine, Apollos Chariot is one of the best coasters I have ever had the pleasure of riding. When I went to BGW, I had already ridden Raging Bull at SFGAm many times, so I was wondering how Apollo was going to compare to RB. I was not disappointed. Apollos Chariot, being more of an out-and-back layout, packs in a ton of airtime, more than Raging Bull, and the use of the terrain by Apollo is also superb. The swooping turnaround is a blast, and the final bunny hills are insane. Perhaps my favorite part of the whole ride is the point where the track dodges off to the right, under the lift hill, and reappears on the other side for the final return to the station. Overall, few rides can match Apollos sheer fun factor, airtime, or balance when it comes to providing the rider with a variety of experiences in one complete package. Apollo still trails Raging Bull by the slimmest of margins for my #3 coaster spot, with Apollos taking Spot #4. But a great job nonetheless to BGW and B&M for creating such an amazing coaster, and one that I will always look forward to riding again.

I agree I also enjoy AC more then RB. However to be honest they really are different enough that it makes it hard to compare since the rider will prefer the one that fits closer to their desired style. Which for me is airtime.

Yes, it was very hard to pick between the two in my Top 10, for example. Raging Bull is a twister, less airtime but more twists and turns, whereas Apollos is all about the airtime. In the end, I think the helix turnaround and jog under the lift hill were enough turning to give Apollo the nod in my book.
