Review of Dungeon Drop @ Six Flags Astroworld

An early Intamin drop tower, Dungeon Drop still delivers one fantastic ride. The queue line is nicely themed to a spooky torture chamber-type setting that encircles the entire ride, and the tower itself projects out from the center of the dungeon. This has about six sets of four seats each, and each one is pulled up and dropped separate from all the others. As for that drop--well, it is pretty tall (230 feet) and gives a nice, scenic trip to the top. There is a suspeneful wait at the top, but the drop is what really sets this one apart. Maybe it was just me, but I felt some of the most sustained airtime of any drop tower the entire way down. I could just feel my body wanting to fly right out of the restraints. Awesome! This did just drop the once, but I was completely content afterwards, and, judging by the looks on all the riders faces, so was everyone else.
