Review of Loch Ness Monster @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg

This ride is great, but it barely missed my top 10 list. The first drop isnt a curved drop like GASM at Great Adventure or Alpengeist. It just goes down and produces a gut wrenching feeling. I wonder why Arrow put brakes on the second drop. Oh well. Next comes one of the interlocking vertical loops. Its a little tight, but its still cool. Then we hit the brakes. Next comes a long helix in a very dark cave. Youll always hear people screaming in that cave. Coming out of the tunnel, finally, comes a second chain lift. A few seconds later, we take a plunge into the second interlocking vertical loop, tight just like the first one. Then we hit the final brakes and the ride is over. Even with Alpengeist and Apollos Chariot in the park, Nessie really packs a punch. Im glad they didnt make the first drop a curved drop. I like drops that just go down better than curved drops. Its unusual, but even with those overhead shoulder restraints, we do catch some air on that first drop. Its smaller than Alpengeist, but I like Nessie better. Definitely a must ride! One last thing. I think this ride doesnt seem too rough because it doesnt have enough turns to be a real headbanger. It has more drops than turns.

Nice review jdale. Loch Ness Monsters definitely a classic looper & the interlocking loops, though a gimmick, looks really interesting. My mom told me about how a while ago she rode the Loch Ness Monster & shes usually terrified of coasters. She said it was a fun experience though & I definitely want to see what that coaster has in store plus Alpengeist, Apollos Chariot, Griffon, & Big Bad Wolf. Hopefully, Ill be able to visit BGE for the first time. It looks like an amazing theme park with the laid-back atmosphere I really like about unique parks.
