Review of Apollos Chariot @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg

This is my 1 of the best coasters in america. The seats make you feel so vulnerable so theres plenty of room for air time--and boy, did this ride deliver! Theres incredible air on every hill including the first drop and the unique final drop into a ditch (It takes your picture in that ditch!). The lift hill is very quiet and you can have a conversation while going up. Anyone know why theres a little dip before the first drop? After staying up there for a second, you take the 210 foot plunge toward the Rhine River and theres a cool straight track at the bottom. Catch some good air as you rush up the second hill. The second hill drops into a tunnel and the tunnels a nice touch. After that, you scramble up yet another hill and make a twisting return. Get ready, folks, for an insane upward spiral. After that mindcruncher, you make a 102 foot dive and head for the brakes. After that is a nice collection of camelbacks, all providing great air. Apollos Chariot is an awesome rush from beginning to end! It isnt quite as good as Nitro, but close. What cant B&M create?

The actual reason for the predrop is to enable the train to gain as much speed from the drop as physically possible. The way Apollos Chariot is designed, the train is not hanging off of a chain going into the drop, which basically means that it can pick up momentum faster and more efficiently. At least this is what I have read...

Youre kidding with me right? You consider a 170 foot B&M hyper with a 210 foot drop at a 65 degree angle reaching a top speed of 73 m.p.h. a childish ride? With the most drop footage out of any ride in the world with 825 feet altogether, I dont even know what the heck you were thinking of calling out Apollos Chariot as a weak ride. This coaster still makes the Top 10 List for a lot of coaster enthusiasts & GPs alike anyway.

If I had your experience? Ive been on Phantoms Revenge, Storm Runner, Steel Force, & Millennium Force. Theyre all faster than Apollos Chariot, so I think Id know about how speed really is to me. I havent been on the Apollos Chariot yet, but the looks of that airtime machine really doesnt make me consider it as a childish coaster at all.

I love it when an anonymous has been to Cedar Point and automatically has all of the experience he needs to denounce quality rides at all other parks other than Cedar Point. I have been on quite a few coasters faster than Apollos Chariot, and AC easily defeats all of them.

You have failed to mention exactly what Apollos Chariot is ALL about: airtime...the sheer quanity of airtime you get on Apollo is amazing. Sure it doesnt go 93 mph, but there arent that many rides that do. Thats not at all what Apollos Chariot aims for...

The only "little dip" on this ride was Anonymous
