I rode this more than four years ago, but with the imminent closing of the park, I better do my review now since it is highly unlikely that I will get a chance to ride again.The Astroway was an original Astroworld ride that opened with the park. An old Von Roll sky buckets ride, it was truly the essence of a classic theme park ride. One of the better-kept secrets in a generally poor park, this sucker ran right over the center of the park and provided some great views: from downtown H-town, to the Texas Cyclone, back towards the Gulf of Mexico and the rest of the slums of South Central Houston, as well as the closed-that-day Texas Tornado. (sorry, that is about as remniscent of the park as I can get) The ride was a nice and relaxing ride, and above average for its type, but still not the best.
