Review of Antique Carrousel @ Canadas Wonderland

When one thinks of Canadas Wonderland, a great collection of flat rides, both new and old, comes to mind. Rides like Psyclone and Shockwave stand out first, but hidden inside of a building near Tomb Raider is this nice litte carousel. Called the Antique Carousel, it is hardly an antique in the early PTC or early Hershchell sense, but it still dates to the 50s or 60s I would imagine. The carvings are pretty good for this old beauty, and are at least wooden and not plastic so that automatically warrents at least a six. A really good ride cycle and a well-manicured machine will add up to a seven in this case, falling short of the true gems out there.

Ive been looking this up and some sources say this carousel was originally created in 1928. I dont think it looks that old though.

Yup - PTC #84, built in 1928. One of their later machines, to be sure - but it'.s considered a classic example. It does feature several signature horses, as well - bearing the company emblem in the carvings - so, not bad overall.
