Review of Mirror Fun House @ Yorks Wild Kingdom

When I think of mirror mazes, I instantly think of two specific ones I’ve been on- Canobie’s stellar Tiki Maze and Rye’s well, epic fail of a house of mirrors. But one I typically tend to forget about is this small, little maze hidden amongst the shade in this quaint Maine park. Located in the park’s kids area, the mirror maze definitely has a carnival feel to it because of its cartoonish façade exterior and also the fact that it looks like a portable attraction. At least lines don’t really ever exist due to its low popularity. Just sometimes you have to wait a minute or two for the group ahead of you to complete their walkthrough.

Once inside the maze, I was actually shocked by the level of difficulty of this mirror maze since it really looked too kid-friendly from the outside to provide any challenge. Boy was I wrong, as I got lost a few times thanks to the creative path through the maze and the squeaky clean mirrors that allowed for a flawless effect to be achieved. Of the mirror mazes I’ve been on, this one is just a notch below Canobie’s for the most difficult mirror maze I’ve been on. One negative though, it is incredibly short, even more so than the other mirror mazes I’ve been on, which are pretty short as well, but not this bad.

York’s Mirror Fun House is a nice, little diversion featured in this quirky park/zoo. That being said, it definitely is passable is you’re pressed for time since it really is nothing extraordinary at all, but it still is one of the better mirror mazes I’ve ever been on. If mirror mazes are your thing, be sure to give this small attraction a try.
