Review of Tea Cup Ride @ Funtown Splashtown U.S.A.
0 Rating Posted by: Canobie Coaster on 7/27/2005 12:16:00 PM
APPEARANCE: Absolutely beautiful. All of the cups were absolutely beautiful and very detailed. Also, the cups were very clean and the building housing the ride looked nice too.

WAIT TIME: Walk On- These Mack tea cups have a very high capacity, meaning for no wait at all. Loading was relatively fast too, which is certainly a plus.

RIDE: Weak. The cycle was decent, as it lasted around 2 minutes. Also the cups move in circles as they rotate around the center, which usually makes these rides more disorienting. However, Tempest traveled very slowly, causing the ride to be rather boring. My main gripe with the ride were the cups, as they are almost impossible to spin. Spinning to my hearts content is my favorite thing to do on spinning rides, and unfortunately I cant on these.

FINAL VERDICT: I have been on two Mack tea cup rides to date (this one and Turkish Delight and Busch Gardens Europe), and neither have provided good rides as the cups were very hard to spin on both. If Funtown can get these cups spinning, I would certainly love this ride. If you enjoy rather tame spinning rides, try this out.

Yeah, they can be tough to spin. I always ride a bunch of times to find the one that spins the best.

I only rode twice, and then gave up.

You think there would be something to do to make these essayer to spin. I can get them to spin ad fast but not as easy as I can with other cup rides.

If only they were as easy to spin as Canobies Over the Rainbow. That would be a dream.

true but the hanging style might be one of the reasons its so easy to spin. their tea cups arent that easy to spin. actually the easiest to spin are the cups On Story land Cuckoo Clockinsiel.

Cuckoo Clockenspeils cars are easy to spin. Maybe Mack will change the design on their tea cups sometime soon to make them easier to spin.

Wouldnt cost much but they could sit it on a silicon pad. The pads list for like 20 years and are normally used on Hitches for 5th wheels an 16 wheelers. It would stop the problem. Cuckoo was made by Wisdom for Story land. Story land apparently hold the design patent so you wont see a second one unless Wisdom makes a deal with Story land.
