Review of Alpengeist @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Alpengeist, although a great ride, didnt live up to all of its hype. It is not as intense as other inverted coasters, but it is still a very fun ride. I think that the reason it wasn’t as intense as others is that the inversions are simply too big for the ride. Unlike the tight loops of a B:TR, these are massive and great to look at, but not as intense. The large swooping first drop is a great start. After a seemingly endless onslaught of inversions and track, the ride ends with some great helixes that soar through snowy rocks.

Do you prefer BTR or just using the intensity as a reference. I agree that BTR is very intense, but the elements are so close that I hardly have time to enjoy them, plus the land around this is so much better BTR clones just cant compare.

I was just using BTR as a reference guide for the inversions intensity. Alpengeist has BTR beat in every category except for the intensity of its loops. The sheer size of Alpengeists inversions probably factor into this, since Batman has some of the tightest loops around. Batman just cant compare to Alpengeists speed, length, capacity, and quantity of elements though.
