Review of Yankee Cannonball, The @ Canobie Lake Park
4 Rating Posted by: Canobie Coaster on 7/26/2005 2:47:00 PM
My first wooden coaster is still a great one despite its age.

APPEARANCE: Considering its age, it looks incredible. The ride hugs the parking lot and the white structure looks great and is very well cared for. Also, the trains recently were repainted and look incredible. Not to be outdone is the station, which really captures the traditional feel of the ride and the fountain out in front is beautiful.

WAIT TIME: 30-45 minutes- The wait got a little better last year, but it still is the parks star attraction and it therefore gets the attention of a star attraction. That combined with the one train operation (the train is smaller than that of most wooden coasters to boot) creates quite a bit of a wait. Loading is lightning quick at least.

RIDE: Dont be fooled, because despite its small stature, it still packs quite the punch. The first drop gives excellent air in the back and all of the following bunny hills give decent air throughout the train, but there really isnt any extreme air other than the first drop that I look for. Still, the ride is glass-smooth and a joy to ride.

FINAL VERDICT: Definitely the best ride at Canobie and a cant miss for anyone who enjoys roller coasters while at Canobie.

Thing is to look at even with a full Queue the wait is only a hour or so. the lines keeps moving. Problem is the park wont add a second train untill its safe and they dont want to take the chance. I dont want to se fins added and thats what it woudl take to add a second train. too many morons at the park keep convincign the owners that the coaster couldnt hande another car. though 6 more riders per run woudl help the capacity allot and almost eleminate the need for a second train.

They should connect some of the cars or all of the cars from the other train to increase capicity, because they could still operate it the same way.

They would have to rebuild teh station to get more then one car on. a 4th car woudl barly fit in the station. any thing more then that it actually would be too heavy. though the crew is quick normaly so waits are never that bad. I think people just like complaining about a lack of two trains. Why should they have to stand in line for even 10 minutes.

I went on a busy day in 2003, and the line was over 1 hour all day.

Im mostly comentign on many of the Trip reports I have read. they wait 1-30 minutes and complain that they had to wait and they shoudl be runign two train. on a day with a wait liek that they woudl have never added the second train to the coaster anyways.
