Ok, this ride is great! There are actually two different Alpengeists, One, riding in the front, two riding anywhere else. On the one hand the front of this ride is IMO THE BEST COASTER IN THE NATION, on the other it barly misses my top 10. I have it ranked number one on my top 10 though because of the front. I have ridden almost every coaster in this nation and no ride I have ever ridden is so worth the wait for the front. Its completely relentless! You cant even breath till the ride finishes. The problem on any other seat is you cant see ANYTHING, you also lose the wind which makes it feel so much faster than it actually is. Hands down the best inversion in the country! There are other rides that our much better than this from any seat compared to any other seat on Alpengeist but not the front, from there this ride is the king!

I do agree this is a great ride and a good review but this gets a 10 and AC an 8 that is my confusion.

Hey viking, I agree with all your sentiments. Unfortunately, I have only ridden this ride once, and it was in the front seat so I did not get to experience the other Alpengeist of which you speak. However, by your description, this is probably a good thing. I had the same feeling of relentlessness as you did. I was constantly grasping for my glasses and hoping not to lose them. To boot, I was in the front row in a pouring rainstorm. I was totally brutalized, and unable to recover from any of the elements in time for the next one. Alpengeist and AC are 2 totally different coasters. Alpengiest is relentlessly brutal whereas AC is refined and exquisite, but I opt for the relentlessness getting the edge for now, and I would rate Alpengesist slightly above AC, even though they are both wonderful world class coasters.
