Review of Batman and Robin: The Chiller @ Six Flags Great Adventure

Robin side: I am actually kind of ashamed to say it, but I actually liked this thing. It looks like something that a retarded monkey could have designed with its simplicity, but it actually works. I apologize to the ride for anything that I have said bad about it in the past. I used to think that it was one of the worst 15 million dollar investments that the park has ever made, but it was decent. I was not able to experience the ride pre-just lapbars, so I cant comment on that, but the lapbars are very secure. I always bashed this ride because it was like a one element thing, eventhough it has two, and then you just go backwards through it all, but it was a lot of fun. The launch was not overly powerful, which was fine, but it was not overly smooth either. That might just be age showing or a sign of the problems that they have had with it in the past. The cobra roll is my favorite element, which might be why I liked it so much. The ride was short, but pretty intense. I was fairly disoriented when I got off. There was a bit of head knocking going on while going backwards, but nothing unbearable. One problem with it was the fact that I was pretty well crammed into the seat. I dont know what is with this park with having two extremes. The first being having some of the most comfortable seats out there (Nitro, Medusa) and then having ones where a 510" 180 pounder feels like he is going to die from being cramped (Rolling Thunder, Runaway Mine Train, Chiller). Next, the themeing is pretty cheesy and lame and fairly cheap looking. The ride is very load too. This is a good ride to get on when there is a minimal wait, but since it is so short it is not worth a long wait. Pretty cool ride though. Im glad to see that it is actually up and running now.

Batman side: Have not ridden. Not operational. Ride op said that it should be open by Memorial Day 2005. I cant wait to get into that inside top hat.
