Review of Apollos Chariot @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg
2 Rating Posted by: coaster05 on 4/15/2005 9:41:00 AM
The final newest member in my holy trinity of airtime(Phoenix, Shivering Timbers.) This ride is amazing especially back row where you never touch your seat for the whole 200+ foot drop. APPEARANCE-10 The ride, station, and que rails all appeared freshly painted. The land around it is very nice and they looked like they did everything they could to save the trees. The trains were also very well kept. I dont know if this is a negative, but i was suprised how ugly most of their shirts were for this ride. CAPACITY-9 The ops were really fiddling with stuff, maybe because it was so early in the year but they would often have both trains at the station. RIDE QUALITY-10+ Smooth, comfortable and intense(airtime, helix,) The only thing they could have done was made it longer since you just dont want it to end. FUN-10 I was just awe struck by all five of my rides. It seemed to get better with each ride which is a rarity. Just an amazing thing to behold. RERIDE-10 DUH! What else would you do in place of this beauty. OVERALL-49 AVG-9.8 So obviously it gets the ten. I just cant imagine any really theme park fan giving this any less then a 9. At this point in its life cycle it is close to perfect.

Awesome review.. if Phoenix and Timbers can provide air that is as sick as Apollos air, then Im sure they will leap towards the top of my list I actually give props to BGW, they had two trains running when I was there and there might have been 1000 people in the park... they rarely stacked the trains, I can see where that line could fly even when its packed. Still, a stellar review

Those two offer more forceful air, the fourth hill on timbers is just abusive how bad it wants to eject you, but they are all amazing. Thanks for the compliment BTW.

Have you found out if you are going to be in my neck of the woods for Timbersfest yet.

I am looking for a buddy to come along with me. I really want to, but I probably wont be for sure until late May. The deadline for the IB event registration is June 1 and the TimbersFest registration is around then too, so Ill know by then. I will have cranked out the details by then I hope. Are you going to Timbersfest?

95% sure my wife and I are taking summer classes for our masters so we are just going to act like we have had these plans for months.

Sounds good, my issue now is trying to figure out how to pay for it. Before hotels it comes to about 300 dollars, and then Id have to factor in 3 or 4 hotels so it will probably be at least 500 dollars. Fortunately, my birthday is coming up so if I get enough people ot donate then it should be a go 8)

The motels around the park suck and are overpriced from what I could find last year. We are just going to do it in a day.

That sucks, there arent many hotels in that area period I looked around a bit more and I could probably get away with three $50 hotels, and then get one on the way back somewhere, unless me and whoever comes with me can switch driving on and off. Im looking at at least 150 for hotels and about 125 for gas plus the ticks and other costs, so I think I have my target of 500 bucks, now, I just need to work my relatives If I go, I would holla at you (in spanish so that freebird thinks were talking about him LOL)

Yep if you end up ther we should say hi what day did you say the IB event is. I am going there on the 14th of May. Pricells on the Freebird comment by the way. I probably thought of that like 40 times at parent conferences. Especially with the mom who started crying and then asked me in Spanish(with a translater) if I could teach her son all the way through high school. Yea that is definately a real negative on our society.

Saturday the 18th. I think you might have to be a member of ACE, but if I go and you wanted to go you could be my guest (Flyer)

I am toying with joing ACE anyway instead of coasterbuzz. Thanks for the offer BTW.
