Review of Shake, Rattle & Roll @ Six Flags Over Georgia
2 Rating Posted by: BobFunland on 3/13/2005 7:39:00 PM
I was very disappointed with the spectacle that is Shake, Rattle & Roll, especially considering how highly regarded Astrophere is on this site. The building left me wonering what was inside, and after skipping it all of last year due to long lines, I took a spin when it was a walk-on today. Once inside, I was discouraged by what (to me) looked like cheap themeing with the banners on the scramblers arms simply painted fluorescent orange and green, but I got over that when I saw a ton of lights, speakers and disco balls. I hopped on and the lights were killed. Then we started spinning and the music began to play. I thought that the choice in music was great, especially seeing that it is located in the USA section of the park, notably themed to 50s Americana. The sound system was also great, one of the best systems on a ride Ive heard. The ride was ok, fast and intense, but... it was a short duration, which was a big let down considering the park was empty when I rode and there was no need for that. The light show was weak too, very limited, and nothing like some of the photos Ive seen out of Funtown, so I think that a 5 will suffice. The scrambler itself would probably get a 5, and this particular light show didnt add to it very much. Still, a fair ride to try when you visit Six Flags Over Georgia.Updated, reason explained in my review comments.

I was hoping to hear that thsi was a better attraction. I live in NE adn often ride both Astrophere and Phychodrome at Canobie. I find the indoor scramblers better then the outdoor one simply because they add a little extra to the ride. Now Astrophere is aboveall an amazign ride and hard to beat. Phycodrome is fast and extreamly intence and the light are amazing. maye we will see this ride grow over the years liek we have sewth other indoor rides.

Edited with a lower rating after riding without music or even without the lights of for half of the ride. Oh yea, the duration was timed at 1 minute and 3 seconds. From a 5 down to a 2.. I hope it isnt always like that, and I hope my first ride wasnt just "a lucky day".

1 min 3sec is rediculase. normal runign time for a ride is 1 min 30 sec. I can agree this setup is a desapointment. Also I guess we know it isnt comuter controled is most of the things didnt work.

My first ride was easily twice as long, and I even thought it was "sjort". Plus, the ride ops just didnt feel like entertaining us I guess. The first ride I saw while in line didnt even turn the lights off, maybe they were being lazy because it was 8AM
