Review of WildCat @ Cedar Point
2 Rating Posted by: Timberman on 1/12/2005 5:01:00 PM
Are you going to criticize a peanut because its not a porterhouse steak or are you going to enjoy what the peanut has to offer? For those in the latter group, I give you the WildCat. Flying under the radar in that land of giants known as Cedar Point, the WildCat has the most inventive and satifying 1800 feet of track in the park. Nothing is missing from this ride except impressive statisitics. It has the sensation of speed, airtime, excellent laterals, an intense helix, and "Atom" Anton Schwarzkopfs trademark drops that duplicate better than any other coaster the sensation of driving off a cliff. One of my favorite moments on this ride is the second drop, which goes ALL the way to the ground. Even though its only about 35 feet down, something about coming so close to the concrete really puts the jimmies on that scoop. I like big roller coasters as much as the next guy, but what I really love are well-designed coasters, and foot-for-foot this is the equal of any ride in the park. That last turn almost deposited me from the back seat to the front, but I took that as Ants final reminder that this is not a kiddie ride. The WildCat is claws for celebration and will leave you feline fine.

You once again astound me with your review writing prowess. Excellent review for what most would see as a genaric ride.

timberman, of course a fun review but one that gave this writer a moment of "paws." i think you may have committed a faux pas and im sad to shed light on it, because the "stormin norman" moment in your piece is definitely a little pinch of chili pepper in the overall snack. but the schwarzkopf you refer to in this is not the mug that hovers on the mt. rushmore of coaster genii, but rather the architect of military strategy during round one in the p-gulf. the schwarzkopf that i think you meant to include, the father of the clothoid loop, shares his first name with the father of american satanism....anton. a perfectly understandable error. myself, in my recent review of phantoms revenge, kept calling it "phantoms menace" over and over. now thats pretty bad. unlike moi, at least youre not revealing to everone on this board that youve been hopelessly brainwashed by lucas corp.

Right you are, ht, my mistake. Now, what rhymes with "Anton"?

I dont think it fits by virtue of similar sylables, but I think "Master" fits on a wider scale.
By the way, Mr. Traver, not that I wasnt already, but even moreso recently I have been studying ones work, and cant help but wish I was alive some 70 years ago. That Cyclone kicks ass.
