Alein Encounter was WAY better! Why did they get rid of it and replace i with something less intense! It was OK, I guess.

Could you at least describe the ride?

Well, I am looking forward to my mid-Feb Magic Kingdom, so I can finally see how this thing is.

Well theyre taiming it down now because kids got too scared. They did the same thing with Alien Encounter

i LOVED this ride when it was the "scary-alien-wants-to-kill-you" ride. So what disney? u CAN have a scary ride, come on you gotta appeal to all your visitors.

I find the comments here a little amusing, since Alien Encounter didnt exactly get a lot of love when it was extant. Too scary for kids, too tame for adults seemed to be the verdict on it.

Ya Alien Encounter had good effects but it was really that great.Seeing the pictures of it.It looks the same to me except a liitle less intense.Remember Disney is looking for rides and attractions fun for everyone. And Alien Encounter didnt really match that catergory.

Disney isnt looking for rides and attractions that are fun for everyone. They are looking for rides and attractions that can make them more money. Stitch is popular. Stitch is marketable. Kids see Stich. Kids then want to buy the Stitch toy. MONEY!

Every park chain created rides that will bring them money.

wow. I thought my comment would get a big response of people disagreeing with me. I guess I was wrong.

The Unofficial Guide to WDW, which a lot of tourists (and I am sure Disney) read, was packed with reviews by park visitors that Alien Encounter was too scary for a family theme park. One problem with Orlando parks is that it is such a "0nce in our lifetime" type family trip that everyone gets upset (particularly Mom and Dad) if anyone in the family doesnt have a good time. In this case, lots of families reported that Alien Encounter "ruined" their family trip to the Magic Kingdom because it scared one of their kids and the kid wasnt the same for the rest of the day. That is just the sort of thing Disney worries about, so Im not surprised they replaced it with something tamer.

whatever. I still think money was the number 1 motivation for changing alien encouter. Not because it was not appriopriate for the whole family. I thought alien encouter was great because it wasnt for little kids and was actually a more "adult" ride at Disney.

And for disney not having scary attractions, did anyone hear about the rumor about Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland?
tacoking on 1/20/2005 9:43:12 PM said:
Oh you mean the crap thing you just created to help prove the point you dont have? That rumor?

First of all let me point out that the Unofficial guide is the best travel book for Disney. And the thing I hate is that it said on the Alien Encounter sighn WARNING may be to intense for children. But then again parents take there children on Alien Encounter and there kids get scared then they blame Disney for it.Disney should have never replaced Alien Encounter. It had great effects and everything.Nothing will ever replace the alien Encounter especially some Lilo and stich crap thing.

It comes down to this. TThey, I mean Eisner, Feels that everythign needs to have a movie or character conection. and they have gone too far. The characters shouldnt be allowed outside fantasy land and mickys toon town. its bad enough they installed Splash moutain in fronter land. next they will be instalign the Abominable snow man from Monsters inc into teh Materhorn ride.

Docter I definately agree with your first half. Parenets need to read the #$%!ing warning. I went one year and there must have been 30 kids under the age of 4 the pure terror I heard still warms my heart. That being said the ride had little reride value and having stich will at least get everyone to ride it again, although it will probably get old with him also.
mrceagle on 2/8/2005 1:44:05 PM said:
I only go to Disney every few years. For most people its even less. Disney dosnt need to haighly worry about reride value becaue after so many years even a plane ride/atraction you will go on again. Gut is the ride is stuped t will do more damage then if it was too scary.

i live in south florida and have been to disney about 50 - 60 times ...this new lilo is disapointing . lilo escapes emits foul odors and blows on your neck ...the new philharmagic is a rave . as good as lilo is bad
mrceagle on 2/9/2005 2:31:37 PM said:
I really want to see the new 3D show. i could care less for Stitch. I heard abou tthe odor its bad enough they pulled that crap with Figmint why this.
coaster05 on 2/9/2005 9:08:00 PM said:
I go to Disney evey 3-4 years so reride is an issue with them. I also hate the stink in figment also.
mrceagle on 2/10/2005 11:36:25 AM said:
I think this sort of efect is overkill. I mean it was one thing for the stink bug on Tugh to be a Bug. when it comes to these other rides its more then needed

I agree it is just not that fun, but kids do think farts are funny so maybe that is what they are hoping for
mrceagle on 2/11/2005 12:57:42 PM said:
Its still a cheap thing. and farts can be funny but you dont need the smell. That woudl give it a one for me right there.
