Review of Hurricane @ Myrtle Beach Pavilion

OK, this is a complete update. I originally gave it an 8 and think I will drop only a point, but my mindset is totally different.About a year ago, I rode this thing for the first time in the very front row, and once I wrote my review I was shocked that people considered it to be rough. There was airtime, just not an abundance, and the ride seemed ultra-intense in the helices. Overall, a decent woodie, right?I rode it again this year and the ride was not the same that I had ridden.. but this time, it was in the very back. The ride was rough, almost completely due to the horrid Gerstlauer rolling stock. Even the strain parts on the way out were rough, and the airtime was never great, but this time it wasnt even what I would call "good". The helices didnt seem as intense, the trains seemed to navigate them at a much slower rate of speed, and they were close to unbearable in the back.Nothing good was going for this ride on that particular day. I dont know what happened in a year, but the ride changed and to me, it wasnt for the good. I like a little jolt, but this jolt was more like a beating. Perhaps I valued this ride less because Ive ridden a few new, better woodies over the past year, maybe I just got lucky with a good ride a year ago, but nonetheless, the ride is now only worth a 7 in my mind.

It definitely is a rough ride...but I thought the back was the best ride. I dunno...thats just my opinion. Like I said in my review, this coaster has some great potential, and I gave it a higher rating because of that
