I first rode Mean Streak in its debut season, and although at the time I thought it was a good ride, it never seemed to live up to its potential. Ive always thought of it as a ".....family-ride"..... Texas Giant. As far as the ride roughness, most coasters from the Curtis-Dinn era that use 2 seat PTC trains seem to track lousy as time goes on (The Predator probably being the worst offender). a freight train down a dirt road would be smoother. Now with the trim brakes, the second-half drops seem even more shallow. CP would have been better off building two medium size woodies rather than this giant disappointment. Rename it the ".....Yellow Streak"..... (its made with southern yellow pine - get it?)
*****rating update- score changed from 5 to 2***** I rode MS on 08/28/08 and it was even worse than I remembered. The ride op dispatched the train with the caveat we would not only be enjoying a wooden rollercoaster, but receiving free chiropractic manipulation as well. If you call be whacked repeated with the hard rubber seatbacks enjoyment. I vividly recall thinking after going down the second drop, if I could have jumped have this PoS, I would have.
