 Review of Illuminations @ EPCOT
1 Rating Posted by: SpenceMan on 4/16/2004 6:47:00 PM
Illuminations, as it was before the "Millenium Celebration", WAS at least a 9, if not a 10. Every day that my family spent at Disney, no matter what park we were in, we always headed over to EPCOT to catch Illuminations. It was tradition. The day didnt seem done until we caught the show, and it was a great way to end it. The lasers effects on the giant white ball, the lighting of each individual pavillion, and everything else made it great. The new show, however, leaves much to be desired. It has been significantly shortened, the fireworks arent as spectacular, and I really miss each pavillion lighting up individually while its music plays. Disney went and messed with a good thing again (*cough* Mr. Toad *cough* World of Motion *cough*). I really miss the old Illuminations. Next time I go, were going to try and catch Wishes over at MK. Hopefully it wont be so disappointing.

I actually am agreeing with you about Illuminations, however, I didnt think the original was that good. I find it really hard to see the globe and the pictures that are on the globe. I sat at Rose Crown and still couldnt see. Wishes is amazing, of course, the "magical" world of Magic Kingdom helps out a lot here. I think only us Disney buffs miss Mr. Toad, only because of the classic element, not because it was that great. Winnie, is a lot more familiar to everyone. Mr. Toad hit a more specific audience. But good Review!
