This ride is nice durring the summer but is a little to short for me. You either get soaked or not a bit wet. The lines move fast and is still popular even after the accident.

In 1999 (or around that year), the Roaring Rapids attraction at Six Flags over Texas experienced an accident which led to the first guest fatality in the park. Basically what happened was the rapids boat was going up the lift hill at the end of the ride and the boat flipped over at the bottom of the lift. The guests were all trapped under the boat in the water. Most guests were able to be rescued or able to get out by unbuckling their safety belts, but one woman was unfortunate.

Six Flags over Texas has only had a few deaths at the park since it opened. The first employee death was in the parks early years at the El Sombraro attraction. The most recent was outside the park in the Front Gate entrance lake. This past winter (Jan or Feb), a father and his son were driving on the Road to Six Flags when the father had a sezere (spell?). The car drove off the road and into the lake near the far south end. The boy and his father died.

Hope that answers your question.
