Review of GhostRider @ Knotts Berry Farm
-1 Rating Posted by: Axman on 10/7/2003 9:34:00 PM
Four years after my first ride on Ghostrider, I discovered the chance to go back to the park once again with some friends/locals so I could re-ride the most intense ride ever. The morning I was going to the park, I woke up with the pain of thinking that my #1 may have lost some of its greatness due to its increasing age. I was wrong, thank the Lord. I then Piled into the car with my groupies and we began our trek to Buena Park, the city where Knotts Berry Farm resided. As we entered into the city limits, Knotts Berry Farm came into view as drove closer to the Threshold. On our way to the parking lot, we passed several attractions on the way; Xcelerator, Perilous Plunge, and Ghostrider. We finally arrived at the entrance of Knotts and made our way through the park, riding Xcelerator, Montezumas Revenge, and other attractions as they passed. We continued our journey in the park, but I hesitated to ride Ghostrider, scared insane that it might turn out to be a bad ride. And finally, the time came where I had gained enough confidence to expect the worst from Ghostrider(even though I was expecting a good ride, at least). I waited in line for about 30 min. and then got in line for the very best seat one the ride, the very back. after an other 10 minutes of queuing, it was finally my time to ride. Worried and excited, I rode the train as it slowly pulled out of the station and rolled through a few curves, picking up speed. Once entering the lift, it was a tall but quick ride to the top. Suddenly, the front of the train crested the lift and whipped the back of the train over the lift, creating insane airtime. I couldnt be happier as I ride through the first half of the ride, before the mid-brake. It was loaded with constant chaos and pandemonium as I rode through airtime filled hills and intense lateral G curves all while continuously bumping up and down throughout the whole experience, creating a brilliantly thrilling ride. The mid-brake provided a conveniently placed rest, before the ride got even more intense. A sudden drop after the brake run rekindled the face-ripping speed while providing excellent airtime in the process. The ride only got wilder until it reached the finally, a wickedly intense, tightly coiled triple helix/ airtime extravaganza. The train flew into the helix with great speed causing all of my senses to go numb. Throughout helix were bunny hills, Producing some untameibly wild negative Gs. After the finally, the train careened into the final break run as I listened to excited clapping and cheering as well as sighs of relief from my fellow riders. Sure enough, it was the best coaster out of the 125 coasters I had ridden in the 12 years of coastering. I was so incredibly happy that my favorite ride hadden’t changed a bit, it was the same as it was the day I first ride it. Once again, and I quote "I couldnt be happier"8)LOLROFL:thumbsup::trophy:
