What a beautiful ride. I love how it sits right in the entrance of the park.

Did you give it a five on perpose or by accident?

No kidding - Im curious, too.

u say nothing bad about it yet you only give it a 5?

I gave it a 5 because its a carousel.

Its not a bad ride by any means. Its one of the most beautiful carousels Ive seen. However, it is JUST a carousel. It didnt "thrill" me. Rating it a 5 is saying "Its ok".

I would probably rate other park carousels a 4 or 3. This one was magnificant so I gave it a 5.

I used to operate it 1988-1989. At first, I was upset that they put me on a lame ride rather than the "Edge" which was my addiction at the time. After running Columbia for some time, I began to see and feel its "magic" while having to watch it and listen to its ungodly music that I did get used to. It is a very beautiful piece of art that you can ride on. It ran very slow, and probably is slower today. I used to say to the riders over the P.A., "Do you wanna go FAST?" "Yeah!" Do you want to go REAL FAST??" "YEAH!!!!" "Then what are you doing on THIS ride--Go on a Roller Coaster!!" I fell in love with Columbia and became extremely obsessed with it. I was actually its unofficial historian in all the carousel associations I belonged to. I even wrote articles on its history and origin. As far as a riders ride, it is lame--I am very addicted to Gs and any coaster-type rides. I really havent ridden any good rides these past few years, number one, theme parks are too costly, number two, I cant ride just once. Instead, I ride a motorcycle. Thats pretty good for a 50-year-old woman!!!!!
