Review of Kraken @ Sea-World Florida

Even though it is the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster in Orlando, Id rather take Hulk for a spin. That is not to say this isnt a great ride, it is. Sitting in the front is amazing and it has the best drop for a B+M looper. Some great inversions too including an amazing dive loop. The zero g roll is not in the same league as Hulks, its about as good as Medusas. I like the mist filled tunnel at the end and this ride is also smooth as silk...in my top ten for now...great ride.

Well, put me in for Kraken being better by a long shot. But I do think lopety17 needs to get over this obsession with putting Hulk down. Hulks not a bad ride - its just not nearly as good as its reputation.

Well...if I could change my review again, I would. I would change my score to a ten. As for Kraken being better than the Hulk, it isnt. You dont get a launch, giant cobra roll, amazing zero-g roll, etc etc...Hulk is truly in a class by itself...

Yeah, on Kraken you get the added suspense of a slow climb 150 feet up, a zero-G roll thats beyond amazing with HUGE air and a small tight cobra roll with that one of a kind B&M "snap" to it. Hulk is certainly in a class by itself - the special ed class...

Sure...zero G roll really compares to Hulks. U know, now that I think of it I really would rather be dragged up, then shot up at zero to 40 in 2 seconds...(thats sarcasm for all you special people our there) To be honest, I like the large cobra roll better than the tight small ones. My opinion differs when it comes to vertical loops though, I would much rather have a tight vertical loop, then a large loop....

It doesnt surprise that the launch would be more suited to you, Sephiroth. With the limited mental capacity youve shown on this site its easy to understand that you wouldnt "get" the idea of the psychology of a slow climb to that height. I imagine youre the type of person that would respond better to a punch in the face that intelligent reasoning. Probably why youd like the simple launch over the much more intense (in a different way) slow climb. Actually come to think of it, thats one of the reasons Hulk isnt that great...the launch gives no "fear factor" - also a problem with the speed on Millennium Forces lift. Too quick to pysche you out. You should actually look into other launched coasters, there are way too many to list that have faster, more intense launches than Hulk. Hulks old news...

I can see your reasoning, but personally I would rather be launched into a zero g roll, then lifted. Its more fun and fearful then a drop. I know Hulks launch is not much compared to todays rides, but who cares. I would rather go on the Hulks launch then let say B+R at SFGA. First of all...you are being launched upward. After that you get thrown into the best zero g roll on the planet. I find that to be much more fun then going from 0-70 in 3 seconds down straight track. What I wont dispute is Krakens amazing drop and amazing elements. Its a few notches under the Hulk in my book. I mean it is like my 7th or 8th ride on my top ten and I always argue the fact that its better than Medusa. With rides like these its all about preference. I cant see you liking a lift instead of a launch and neither can you see me liking a launch over a lift...big deal...there are a lot of people who agree with me on the Hulk being better then the Hulk, so there must be a lot of mental cases out there...
