Confession: I live pretty close to Lake Compounce, but hadnt been because I thought "A good theme park? In CONNECTICUT?!?" But I read the reviews here and thought "Alright, Ill check out this Boulder Dash thing myself." The reviews arent just hype - it rocks. Definitely the best woodie Ive been on. Starts with a nice curving drop and maintains high speed over a lot of camel humps all the way through. And it really is carved into the side of a mountain - youre surrounded by rocks and trees and often cant see where the coaster is gonna go next. Gives that nice, woodie rattling - but not in a nasty, rough way (like, ick, the Cyclone at Six Flags New England). As an added bonus, ride at night: the whole thing is in complete darkness.
