Smooth, intense but standups are painful to me. There is a bit of head banging and that trim on the first drop is very strong and takes away some good air, but I see why the trim is used because otherwise the pain would be really bad.

The trims also resolve in "hangtime" on that first loop.

Mantis is great, sorta painful but im short.

Its just painful on the legs.

well, it may have been painful.....but i couldnt tell. im used to the brutal ride that is Iron Wolf, so it makes Mantis look a heck of a lot better.....quality ride

Big Red, Mantis isnt painful on my legs but everytime i ride it the ride conductor person wrenches the seat up into my crotch so im in my tippy toes...everytime because i am short at 57 and it may appear that i am not standing up to my "full potential"

lol, well, the guy usually gives me a break and lets me relax a little....plus with my height, the restraints dont go much higher

(sorry guys) the mantis does not get the respect that it rightfully deserves. i hear too many people complaining about it....they dont know how good they have it. i mean, they have a stand-up thats fun. maybe if they all take a ride on iron wolf...theyll see what i mean

I love Mantis, its not incredibily intense or anything but it is alot of fun with the stand up part. I wish it was a little faster though.

Its a B&M, they all are great.

hey, find me one bad B&M....(iron wolf doesnt count) theres nothing wrong with likeing a type of roller coaster that makes one amazing ride after another

arrow, worlds of fun modified an arrow corkscrew coaster with stand up trains back in 1983, one year before togos king cobra. togo did however have the first successful stand up as this arrow version put too much stress on the track and it was converted back to a sitdown after only one year. do a google search for extremeroller

Thats wrong. The stand up was first introduced in 1982 by TOGO.

that only counts as a half standup because only one train is a standing one (the other sitdown)

I guess so, but it depends on when the stand up train was put on it.

iron wolf is bad....i dont know when the last time you went on it was....but its gotten bad. i still ride it every time, but i am sacrificing my nuts for my enjoyment

demon, you are truly a good man. putting your balls on the line for a coaster. Hell my first experience on mantis was painful...id probally die on Iron Wolf.

I dont remember them being there when the ride made its debut.

I would go back to Cedar Point just for Mantis. It was my #2 coaster for awhile.

Mantis kicks ass! I live in MD and Ive rode it like 15 times! Worth it!

the mantis is the best stand-up ive ever been on....and one of the best B&Ms as well. its at least in my top 15

Riddler is the best Stand-Up out there. Mantis is a great ride, but it has nothing against Riddler. I mean Riddler has all the elements, not to mention being faster, taller, and longer!

Riddler looks like it has a really boring 2nd half though.

Oh, dont get me wrong. Im not saying Mantis is a bad ride at all! Riddler is just that good.

The second half of Riddle isnt boring, the second half rocks. It isnt intense but the turns are fun and gives you a couple of good moments of air, and on a standup that is a great thing.

im goin to SFMM im plannin to get on this ride. i cant wait!

The second part of the Riddler is just as good as the first. The second is different with all the high speed turns and closeness to the ground, but the ride is just solid.

i dont think anyone will argue with you when you say the layout is better than iron wolf

Iron wolf has a much better layout than Manits.....If anyone says something like that, they should be banned from the site.
