, and over every hill my knees would slam into the seat in front of me. But that doesnt take away the fact that this coaster is great. The drop is very fast, the airtime is plentiful, and although its a little rough, its still a blast to ride. This is a quality coaster, but it has aged a bit.

"Aged" is definitely the operative term here.

Magnum broke tons of records when it was first built. Just because it is "aged" doesnt mean it doesnt provide the same thrill as the newer rides.

I didnt think it was rough it all. Maybe its just me. Course I didnt find Mean Streak to be rough either...

I agree with MovieCoast. People always complain about Magnums roughness, but it wasnt rough to me (except in the third row when the air time is painful).

I found this ride very rough. The first year I went, I found it relatively smooth, but the ejector air hurt my legs. This time, I was just shaken. My back hurt after riding this one, from the brutal pounding it had just recieved.

Magnum is rougher compared to the newer rides like Raptor or MF but it is still a great ride. I dont find this ride painful at all, infact I think Corkscrew is more painful then this but I also dont find Mean Streak rough, I guess it might depend on how tall you are, Demon being 63 as disavantage to me @ 57, I fit into the cars comfortably and I come of the ride feeling fine.

Im 6 so that theory might hold true.

I actually rode this with demon and two of my other friends, my one friend who is smaller wouldnt even go on it again, but my other friend who is bigger loved it, so that theory actually doesnt hold water now that i think about it.

okay, heres what i meant: i am the kind of person whose hands go up on the lift hill, and dont go back down until the brake run. the hands always gotta be up. so with my long legs wedged into the tiny space, whenever it goes over a bunny hill, my legs would slide forward, and bang into the plexiglass in front on them(me not using my hands to hold myself back in the seat), and they would hit quite hard. my knees were quite beat up when i got off, and that is the cause for my thinking this ride to be rough.

I am the same way Demon, hands dont go down until the brakes kick in. I am able to brace my legs so I dont jerk around much. The ride is great show some love.

i gave it an 8...i think thats showing it love....i never said i didnt like the ride, i simply said it was painful on my knees.....which it was

understandable.

whenever i go back to the park, i will definitely ride it again, its not like i hate the thing.....i might just have to learn how to ride it.

I could show you tricks to enjoy cedar point like no ones buisness.

i didnt go on a single water ride at CP....the only water rides i hit up were at soak city.

Snake River Falls is the only decent one in the park

its is rough but its old as hell. take that into cosideration.

its only like 14 years old....there are much older rides that are nowhere near as rough

yes and there are newer rides that are even more rough. Mean Streak for example. Built in 91 its only 12-13 years old depending on when it was built in 91.

Mean Streak wasnt brutal to me. Nowhere near Texas Giant. Now THATS A KILLER!

No, Mean streak is a heck of alot worse than the Texas Giant. And atleast the Texas Giant doesnt have trim brakes on the first drop.

well im saying...look at the mean streak...its only a little younger than the magnum (built in 89) and its brutal...magnum is older its gonna be painful but there are rides older than magnum that are smoother...example Gemini.

gemini is my sentimental favorite ride at cedar point....:thumbs way up:

Magnum was rough on my body, it didnt hurt my knees. If I have back problems in a few years, Im blaming them on Magnum. I mean the ride would be fun if it felt like all the pieces of the track were there.

yeah, for some reason i managed to go pain free with my back...but the knees were beat up pretty good....and i almost got whiplash at the bottom of the drop

It wasnt as bad, but that just attests to how bad mean streak is.

Well, SFGA. I didnt get bruises on Mean Streak or a headache either. Texas Giant does both. I actually thought it was pretty smooth compared to The Beast, which beats both of them out. PKI needs to do some serious smoothing out. They are letting that jem go to the birds. And BTW: Texas Giant is far better than MS. At least you can get off of it, talking about some of the ride. Mean Streak supplies ZERO. You dont even hear people scream.
