Review of Space Mountain @ Disneyland Park
0 Rating Posted by: Andrea02 on 5/26/2003 5:46:00 PM
Pretty cool ride. Normally, I HATE roller coasters, but this one and the other two at Disney (Matterhorn and Big Thunder) are pretty much the only ones Ill ride. Thats because they seem more like fast fun rides than roller coasters to me. We rode this 7 times the last time we were there! Once the operators scrwed up and didnt stop the car at the exit gate on time, so the car went past the gate and they had to run us through again! He he! Lots of fun and something that shouldnt be missed if you can avoid Disneys insanely long lines!

How in the world did that happen lol...unloading station isnt in the same place as the dispatch. Even if you went through that, wouldnt you have gotten off at the dispatch?
Andrea02 on 5/26/2003 10:48:34 PM said:
Oh. Well maybe it was the dispatch we went past, LOL. Not really sure but the guy running it said "Darn, these things dont back up. Well have to run it through again so we can stop it at the right place." It was a free ride anyway, LOL.
Sephiroth7 on 5/26/2003 11:24:38 PM said:
Yea...but what im saying is that once u passed unload...what did the guy say at dispatch? You cant just go straight through or youd crash into the car ahead of you loading passengers. Either Im missing something or the story dont make much sense hehe...
Andrea02 on 5/27/2003 12:15:49 AM said:
Oh, I see what youre saying. The guy at dispatch didnt say anything. We were told to stay in the car. We waited a second so the car ahead of us could get going and then they sent us through. I dont know why they didnt let us off at dispatch. Maybe they thought it was too much hassle? They didnt really look like they knew what they were doing, LOL. Anyway the people in line got mad. Here they are waiting an hour or more and we get to ride twice, LOL. Then again I wasnt really paying too much attention to what was going on so I may be a little confused...

Thanks. Since I just joined I have been reviewing all the rides I remember going on in past years. Im going to a few theme parks this summer as well - two of which I havent been to since 95 so there are some things that have been added or that I didnt ride the last time (I chicked out of Tower of Terror at MGM last time, will ride this time) and one park Ive never been to. Should be fun!
mrceagle on 5/27/2003 10:11:07 PM said:

Andrea02 on 5/27/2003 11:55:23 PM said:
Oh, MGM and Magic Kingdom (went to both in 95) and then to Sea World where I have never been.
mrceagle on 5/28/2003 1:09:07 AM said:

yiur about the smae thing as me mrc. ive been to MK many, many, many, times but ive never taken a trip to sea world.
Andrea02 on 5/29/2003 2:09:48 AM said:
Hey, you two that say youve been to MK a lot, how bad is that Tower of Terror thing as far as the intesnsity of the drop? The first and last time I was there I chickened out of it (was only 12) and everyones telling me I should ride it this time but I am a chicken...LOL
mrceagle on 5/29/2003 12:31:39 PM said:
New Mexico is great went to Carlsbad Cavers. I take it you have been? ToT is no more intence then an S&S turbo drop. just with far better show elemints and FX. its well worth a ride.
tacoking on 5/29/2003 2:22:17 PM said:
I didnt find ToT to be scary whatsoever. but it is tremendously fun.
MovieCoast on 5/29/2003 3:45:50 PM said:
I like your review of Space Mountain. Its one of my favorite coasters!!!
Andrea02 on 5/29/2003 5:33:22 PM said:
Thanks MovieCoast. Its one of mine too. Actually one of the few I will ride, LOL. Mrceagle, yes, Ive been to Carlsbad Caverns. But only once, about 12 years ago, LOL. Its 6 hours from where I live in Albuquerque.
mrceagle on 5/29/2003 7:50:29 PM said:
Did you do the Million Doler Museum down the road from it? they have one of the best shootign gallerys in htat place I have ever used. hope to get out to both of them and then head up to Cliffs to ride Rattler.
Andrea02 on 5/30/2003 3:23:03 AM said:
I dont remember going to the museum, but that was a long time ago. Heh, everyones talking about that damn new roller coaster at Cliffs. I wont even set foot on it. Ill stick to the gold old Disney coasters, LOL.
Sephiroth7 on 5/30/2003 12:38:08 PM said:
! Sea World RULES. Kraken does not steal the show there, the entire park is extremely well run and underrated. Journey to Atlantis sux, but other people seem to enjoy it. But the shows, theme, and keeping of the park are all A+...im headin there when I go to Universal again next month...
mrceagle on 5/31/2003 2:21:04 AM said:
I would like to get out to Sea World next time I am in Florida. I also would liek to hit the Universon parks.
Andrea02 on 5/31/2003 4:40:54 AM said:
We were actually going to go to Universal this time because I have never been to the one in Orlando (but I have to the Hollywood one). But we had to make a decision: Universal or Sea World, and we decided Sea World since Ive never been to any of them.
Sephiroth7 on 5/31/2003 6:22:48 PM said:
mrcagle youve never been to IOA or Universal...damn. Didnt realize. Next time you plan a trip, make it to Universal Orlando and stay onsite at Royal Pacific...you will NOT regret it. Using the Express system at Universal alone makes it the best theme park experience in the world. There is no "stress" about lines at all. You dont need to run anywhere, wake up at any time...its awesome! Not to mention they have the best rides in the world....oh, did I forget that part?
mrceagle on 6/1/2003 12:22:59 AM said:
last time I went to Disney IOA was barly under constructin. they had the parkign garage built and we coudl see Hulk. that was it. Next time I go Ill try to get ahold of my grand parents freinds. they work in the Downtown Univesal so they can get up around easy. also I normaly stay at fort wilderness. for about a week and a half of two weeks. with a camper you can stay for 45 bucks a night.
Horizons12 on 6/1/2003 10:41:06 PM said:
when i went to Universal in 1999 IOA was practicly done...i hated looking at all those coasters and drop towers and NOT BEING ABLE TO GO ON THEM! lol

I know know we know what an animal feels liek when you hold food in fron tof them.
DemonRules on 6/2/2003 10:48:48 AM said:
wow, i really feel bad for you guys, cause ive been there three times since it opened.....and i live in Wisconsin! you guys should put IOA as your #1 must see park. you gotta check it out, because it is a park you will never forget.
mrceagle on 6/2/2003 9:22:34 PM said:
it is on my list of must vist parks. but I need to save up money first. its not cheap tp visit the parks in Florida.
DemonRules on 6/2/2003 10:26:02 PM said:

mrceagle on 6/3/2003 1:39:21 AM said:

mrceagle on 6/5/2003 3:03:06 PM said:
I doubt it. My parints have enough to pay for. pluse I have more then 7,000 stil owed for student loans. so i have to get that payed off.
DemonRules on 6/5/2003 5:00:05 PM said:
well, yeah, that was more or less a joke. but a trip to cedar point for 4 days is only going to cost me about 150 bucks......that aint bad
mrceagle on 6/5/2003 5:13:47 PM said:
Ill jsutstay local. all the parks have new attractions so its worth the trips.
DemonRules on 6/5/2003 6:07:39 PM said:
yeah, theres nothing wrong with that. but cedar point really isnt too much further for you than it is for me
mrceagle on 6/5/2003 6:54:36 PM said:
probubly not. bo you know somebady livignneartheir bacause 150 sounds low. tikits alone for 2 days are nerly 100.
DemonRules on 6/6/2003 12:22:15 PM said:
well, im going with a different family (SFGA_Fan) and they are paying for the hotel (THANK YOU!) but they also have coupons for tickets, so it will end up not being much more than 150, which is pretty amazing. (we are getting 2 night passes, 1 full day pass, and 1 day pass to the water park) its gonna be sick!
mrceagle on 6/6/2003 7:01:13 PM said:
if I go I will barrow a parints camper. jsut use the camp croung. its abotu 45 bucks a night. so Id need 3 nights. so $135 then tickets.I think ACE gets a disncount so hopfuly I coudl save a few bucks.
DemonRules on 6/11/2003 10:02:27 AM said:
thatd be nice. although, if you have a camper, dont even go to campgrounds, you could just park at rest stops and stuff along the highways and sleep. youd save a ton of money.
