Review of Phantoms Revenge @ Kennywood
-1 Rating Posted by: ABR on 3/22/2003 9:04:00 PM
This is my least favorite hyper coaster that Ive ever ridden. Many other people have mentioned that it hurts. They are right, it slams you on your seat a couple of times near the end. This is what really brought its score down. However, I gave it a couple extra points because I really like how its the second drop thats the biggest, not the 1st.

ive never ridden it but it looks great. of course im biased cuz i love pretty much all hypers. the entire thing looks good. especially when you dive tyhrough the thunderbolt. doe it give you any airtime?

What do you mean by slams you intoyour seat?

Well, yes you do get airtime.
And it slams you into your seat by going too fast over small hills (way too fast) Meaning you go up the hill and your sort of standing (up to the restraint) and you go down the hill... SLAM.

So it has ejecter ar time on top of the hill and high Gs at the botom. alot of people look for thrills like that.

I must agree. The first two drops (the parts of the old Steel Phantom to be retained... the only good parts of that ride) are the best parts of this ride. The third drop (back under Thunderbolt) is not that bad either. However, after that things turn painful. Double dips and bunny hops are great, if their profile compliments the speed of the train. On Phantoms Revenge, the train hits the (small) double dip and (small) bunny hops at a very high rate of speed. There is air time (which is good), but then your body is slammed back into the seat with such force that you swear your internal organs and spinal column are either rearranged or crushed (which is bad). Its better than the old Steel Phantom... but I found to be far less enjoyable than other hypers that I have encountered (S:RoS at SFA, S:RoS at SFDL, Steel Force at Dorney, Apollos Chariot at BGW).

completely agree SLFAKE. if only KW had just alittle bit more room to build back there, that ride would have the potential of being a very very good ride. still has the best headchopper i have ever experienced

so they tride to put to much of a side into too little space. the ending needs to be trimed. makes sence. why don;t they just trim it then?

a little off topic im just wonderin since slfake mentioned them, are the S:ROSs in SFDL an SFA clones?

yeah, but mirrors. SFA turns right while SFDL turns left, has water elements and is the better of the two from what i understand
