The Best simulation you will ever ride period. It gets a fairly long line. So I suggest ride it early or late.

Have you ever been on Back to the Future? Heck...id rather ride Star Tours then this thing!...

Back to the Future sucked. I dont understand why everybody likes it. Oh yes I love a simulator when you can easily look to your left or right and see another car. Thats crap. Star Tours I dont remember my initial reaction from the first ride to compare it. I hate ST now. Probably I can speak along with the robots dialogue since Ive been to DLR so much.

LOL....have you ever LOOKED around in Soaring? You can see in the other cars much more clearly then on BTTF. BTTF makes you feel like you are the only one on it. If you turn your head and look, u "can" see, but its not a big deal. On Soaring, you board with other cars right next to you! Its like a group ride, there is nothing sepperating you and other cars....very lackluster...If you go to my review of Star Tours, youll see I dont enjoy it very much. However, the difference in time between these rides is gigantic. Disney could have done SO much more with Soaring. I mean...there isnt even a story line...PATHETIC...

Yet but the screen is interesting enough that I dont want to look at everyone else. Back to Future is boring, so I look. BTF has a horrible story line. Come on chasing Biff through time? Hes a pussy. And there isnt supposed to be a storyline. Its about Californias wonders. And shows you some scenes of them. Ive actually done a lot of those. River rafting being my faforite. And CA rivers are 2nd only to Utah and Colorado as far as fun goes. And for your information Im still yet to ride Soarin when everyone isnt clapping and cheering at the end.

Heh....you diss BTTF for not having a good story, but at LEAST there is a story. I know CS isnt supposed to have a story and thats exactly why its lame. They just filmed a IMAX movie with simulators....WOW...and you cant diss BTTF for being able to see other cars if you can see em more easily on CS....

Well guess what. The majority of people would much rather ride Soarin than BTTF. People are not clapping and cheering when they get off of BTTF. Or maybee I like Soarin because I love my home state. I dont know. Its just the best.

People are not clapping and cheering when they get off of Soaring. But people were clapping and cheering for BTTF when it first came out. Soarings technology doesnt even excel a 10 year old ride. Smellovision is like 100 years old....lol...

Yea they are. Have you been on it. Its the crowd favorite ride of the park. Not mine of course, that title goes to the coaster. Of course it doesnt. How do you make something new with a simulator? Theres nothing else to do/add. Unless you make it into a dark ride simulator like Indiana Jones. My problem with BTTF, if youre going to bother with a story make it good. Unfortunately its just like the movie. It sucks.

Umm...does Spiderman ring a bell? That is what they did to advance the simulator. And BTTFs story rules. In fact, its one of the best themed attractions in the world, period. Great movies...great ride. And certainly the park favorite at Cal Adv is Cal Screamn, not Soaring. Every person that Ive talked to said they were dissapointed with Soarin, but enjoyed CScreamin a lot.

I havnt been on Spiderman but thats one upping Indianna jones by adding 3d to the mix. Looks fun. Sorry BTTF sucks. I hate the movies too. I hate time travel stuff. I think too much. Because antying put in time travel the smallest thing will completely alter the future. It just dosnt make sense. I notice things in time travel stories and immiately question wait, if they did that tiny thing wouldnt that completely change that in the future? I think Screamn is better myself, but its not the number 1 attraction. Soaring line is a lot longer than Screamn. Screamn never has more than a 20 min. wait. Im still trying to figure that one out because it truely is a great coaster. Soarin can be up to 2 hours of a wait on any day.
Sephiroth7 on 5/7/2003 4:35:38 PM said:
Those factors can be greatly effected by ride capacity and location. Soaring is in the front of the park and when I went on Screamn it was a 45 minute wait. Well if ur not a time travel person, then BTTF wouldnt be a favorite. And just so u know, Spidy isnt Indiana Jones in 3d....its so mcuh more All Im saying is there IS more u can do with a simulator...and Spidy is living proof...

I have a season pass to DLR. And Ive never waited longer than 20 minutes for Screamn. Time travel just doesnt work. I dont know about Spiderman. I havnt been on it so I shouldnt talk about what it is.
Sephiroth7 on 5/13/2003 3:01:53 PM said:
I went on an average day late in the afternoon last Spring. Soaring was like a fifteen minute wait and Cal Screamin was a forty five minute wait. But, I if u were listening...you would know that it probably has to do with load time and not the popularity of the ride. And time travel is funnnnn....

You probably must have caught a day when their were a ton of high school groups. Thats the only rare days when the coaster is crowded. Normally its just a ride people skip because it has a loop. Once the tower opens then I see Screamn receive its 1 wait on any day, similar to Space Mountain. And youre wrong. Most peopole ride Soarin more than once. It is in fact the favorite ride. Im a CA resident. I know. I qualify for the southern CA discounts on season passes and other deals. I know more than you about what the majority of people like. Course Screamn is better, but thats just me. Time travel is fake.
Sephiroth7 on 5/15/2003 4:27:59 PM said:
"High School Groups" lol...this was spring break...and most people do not ride it more then once. It is obviously one of the most popular rides in the park and Im not saying people dont like it...but SURELY what you are saying totally wrong. It has the longest lines in the park due to bad load times. 95% of the people who waited an hour for that ride, will not want to wait on a long line to ride it again...and just because you live in CA really doesnt mean that much ...my sister lives there...she goes to Disneyland all the time and "knows" what people like...etc...etc...and Time Travel rules....however...we will never come into agreement...u stated ur side, as I did mine...il end this right here...u can have ur final word...cuz this is gonna go no where..*cough* war forum...
toaddy on 5/16/2003 2:15:07 PM said:
There you have it. Spring Break. A bunch of teenagers. Of course its going to have a longer line during Spring Break. And they do wait again. Its a small park. Anyone can do the whole park with 2-3 spare hours. It means I know more than you about the park and the crowds. You know more about the crowds of the park wherever the hell you live.

I agree with sephiroth7. Disneyland has even anounced that soring california is the most popular ride in the park. I know people who will go and just ride this attraction. I still feel that Star Tours is one of the best simulators to this day. ST needs an update but where else in the world besides in a Disney park can you fly threw the Death Stars canyon and live to see it blow up.
