This is a standard "flying bobs" ride that sports an usual "tropical island" themeing. The critcisms and low ratings for this ride by coasterkev and mrceagle are not well-founded. With regard to the allegation that the ride is "slow" and is not run backwards, the flying bobs is designed by the manufacturer to run either forward or backward and the ride is about the same either direction. While it is true that Six Flags may not be running the ride as fast as some carnivals, it runs it at about standard park speed, which isnt all that slow. Also the ride is located near a kiddie-ride area and by operating the ride only forward and only at an average speed, Six Flags can offer an attraction that both adults and small kids can ride and enjoy. If it was set to "killer speed" and run backward, they would need to impose height restrictions that would not be as much in keeping with the rides location. With respect to the allegation that the themeing is out of place, the ride sits adjacent to both a "1950s" land and to the tropical island themed water park. Six Flags had to chose one theme or the other and it seems odd to criticize them for chosing to match one of those themes. Indeed, the odd thing would have been to go with the usual "alpine bob sled" themeing most parks use for this ride.
