Superman RoS is one of the best hypercoasters around!! I rode this coaster the year that it opened and it truly, I feel, broke Intamin into the market of hyper/giga coasters. This giant looms high above SFDL and is by far their best ride. The lift of 208 feet is smooth and eerily quiet! The first drop is insane!! The steepnes of it (72 degrees) was something I wasnt expecting, and that added to the rush! You drop down to a mere couple feet above the lake and then turn through mist and fog!!! Awesome! The 2 large airtime hills are fantastic, especially the 2nd - you float out of your seat for several seconds! The first helix is great, but the second one I could have done without. An overbanked turn couldve served a better purpose here. But the ending bunny hops are superbly executed and give nice airtime!! One word of caution - be prepared for a rather sudden stop! Overall, this ride is excellent, with nice drops, great airtime and intense speed. I dont think its really fair how this constantly gets compared to the other 2 Superman hypers - when this came out, it broke the mold! Yes, the other 2 may be better but they should be, they were designed later! The fact that the others are slightly better doesnt make this ride any worse. A must-ride coaster thats a blast to ride!! Perfect fit for a small park like SFDL!! (Actual rating: 9.5/10)

It was first, so its right that Intamin should have made improvements, yet thats not a reason to trash it! If youve gone on it before, and actually look at it for the wonder it is (not in comparism to another coaster), you will find its an exellent ride in most aspects.

When you talk about "no reason to trash it", are you referring to me?? I wasnt sure....as you can see, I love this ride and its included in my top 10! Just to clarify things. But you are correct, its not right to trash a ride just because there are newer coasters out there. This coaster is indeed excellent in most of its elements. I think its just a natural tendency for people to compare coasters to other ones that are similar. I try not to....I like different coasters for different reasons. I mean, Magnum at CP is one of my favorites, even though there are other better hypers out there.

youat no point trashed this ride. infact you put it into a very good perspective. very positive. the ride tow and all ride will be compared to others. especialy when they give it the same name. Six flags needs to get mroe creative withtheir names. The ride looks good and as a hyper Im shore it is great. but, Other I dont always compare rides, this rides will be compared do to the fact hey are presentd at the same ride by SF.

I was talking about a number of other people who really think this this ride is horrible, but they are actually comparing it SFNEs, which is not fair or possible since its a completely different type of hypercoaster. theres no conparism.

I agree they arnt the same ride. but, SF by giving them the same name, the same company, and same color shem. they kinda bring it on themselfs and cause peaple to think teir the same.
