Review of Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain @ Indiana Beach

This coaster was decent. The capacity is bad, and the ride is way too rough and shaky, its easy to get hurt. Im glad IB kept some of the old SuMo theming though, and some parts are fun.

The capacity is actually improved, however the fall of CCI has left some internal problems that IB cant resolve until the off-season. Namely, the braking point within the mountain .. which is currently stopping cars inside for too long and not allowing for the release of the 2nd train ... and the MIA 3rd train (which developed a problem after a few runs and is currently being re-constructed). The 6-mintue ride is down to 2-minutes and the trains hold 8 (whereas the old cars held 5), so capacity will increase dramatically once these errors are corrected. In addition, the rough spots on the outside of the mountain are set to be smoothed out this off-season by IB personnal since CCI has ceased to exist. This is going to be one of the strongest and most unique rides in Indiana (and the midwest), I feel, once it gets an opportunity to recover from the dramatic disappearence of CCI. (also, all seat belts are going to be replaced with samy style belts as in the HH and CORNBALL, which should also add to ride comfort).

The capasity is bad? Heck a full Q line went in 15 minutes or less when I was there labor day.

What kind of name is this for a coaster?
mrceagle on 1/8/2003 10:18:56 PM said:
The superstition dark ride was modifide to host a CCI coaster. they used a preexisting dark ride and ran the tracks through the passagways. so it is a good name.

Its a D*MN GOOD name when you consider that many coaster enthusiasts felt the old dark ride was truly a roller coaster, but it was never officially given that title. Now, the coaster they all said was there has come to surface.

Neverlooked at it that way. I really want to get out and ride this thing.

Its a damn good name if you live in a cartoon world, or some kind of goofy world like that.
mrceagle on 1/10/2003 3:03:31 AM said:
Soo much better then the real world.
BigJohnWC on 1/10/2003 11:46:10 AM said:
Yeah .. the same "goofy cartoon world" that has coaster names like BATMAN & ROBIN: THE CHILLER or JOKERS JINX or IRON WOLF (which I still dont get for that coaster) or TURN OF THE CENTURY or THE CYCLONE or KING COBRA or STEEL PHANTOM or, most recently, TOP THRILL DRAGSTER. My point being, coaster names have some kind of link to the ride and the park ... but you cant judge the name as being "horrid" or "lame" until you visit and see the reasoning for yourself. Quite frankly, Ive often heard THE CORNBALL EXPRESS called the absolute worst name for a coaster ever. However, anyone who has driven through cornfield after cornfield in Indiana to get to either of its two parks can appreciate the humor, fun, and point of calling the coaster THE CORNBALL EXPRESS ... and then, often post in reviews and forums across the net, that it is THE BEST name for a coaster they have come across.

THEY ARE FOR THEME!!!! Maybe this one may be also, really I dont know and dont care. Also Cornball Express is up there for very stupid names for a coaster.

i find the name very apropriat. the coaster gos all over the palace. it as inf a cornball designed it.
XtremeFan8 on 1/10/2003 4:33:51 PM said:
But its a pretty stupid name!
BigJohnWC on 1/10/2003 5:05:20 PM said:
Not for a coaster that is an express train ride of a wild time in the middle of the Indiana cornfields. Your judging names for rides that you havent even seen at a park youve never been to. In addition, like I said, calling THE CORNBALL EXPRESS a bad or stupid name is a common thing, UNTIL guests visit and ride it ... 90% of those guests then understand the name.

this park is high on my list of places I wont to visit.
XtremeFan8 on 1/10/2003 11:50:37 PM said:
Again, a stupid name!
