I got the chance to ride this beast twice on my recent trip, once in the day up front, once in the early night in the middle. Let me start off my saying that the concept of the dueling Inverts is just incredible, some real creativity on the part of IOA and B&M. Unfortunately, some of our rides didnt produce the best dueling, but still good nonetheless. While I do prefer Fire a bit, Ice is still very good and I prefer some of its elements to the corresponding elements on Fire. First of which is the drop, which twists to the right and then to the left and I loved the lateral movement on the drop. I would have expected an inversion early on, but even without I was still happy because those turns were still quite intense. The zero-G roll on Ice is an awesome example of B&M zero-G rolls. I prefer it to the "airtime" hill of Fire, and the trains create a foot chopper effect with each other which is very cool, especially at night. The one problem that I had with Ice is that I thought there was a bit too much strait track, at least compared to Fire there was more. The cobra roll against the castle was nice, it certainly was a pleasant suprise as far as a scare effect. The dueling inversions of the vertical loop and corkscrew were cool from both rides, and the ride keeps going all the way up to the pre-station brake run. Overall, probably only a 7 without the dueling, but that adds a point to both this and Ice, which is a bit better and will get a 9. Overall, compared to other Inverts, this is just a step ahead of the Batman clones.
