Review of Hurricane @ Myrtle Beach Pavilion

My reaction to this ride can be summed up in one word: OWW! What could be a middling to good out and back is marred by those horrible Gerstlauer trains.

what do you expect, its wooden-- of course it will be rough

Its not a matter of rough. The lapbars on that ride are totally unpaded, and thin. Having 1.5 lateral G presseing you into a .5 inch unpadded metal pole is not my idea of a good time.

Ive ridden the Boss at SFSL, with Gerstlauer trains and the same no padding and it is my #3 ride. Id bet money that boss pulls between 1.75 to 2.0 lats, there is a wicked hidden turn takin at about 60 mph and at 5 degrees banking. He is just complaining. It is proven that CCI has yet to make a truely a BAD coaster. Ive never ridden this one, but I was so thrilled with the boss, I made a mental onote that Id love to ride any CCIs!

Dude! i rode this coaster, and that is like one of the best coasters i have ever been on. The only drawback is the type of restraints used. They are kind of tight, but still, it was an awesome coaster. I wish they were more like Thunder Road or Hurlers restraints at Carowinds, but that really did not take away from the actual ride, unless you were intent on finding something wrong with the ride.

i think he was intent on finding something wrong with it. its not even that rough, especially compared to some other woodies

Wow. I thought the coaster was extremely rough. It hurt my head because it was shaking so hard. But thats what coasters are meant to do Its still one of my favorite woodies.
