What a great ride. Log Flumes are by far my favorite water ride, and finding out that Lake Compounce had one of these made me happy. This ride has a good drop that gets you not too wet (I didn't get that wet, but I'm not sure about you). But one thing that caught me off guard was a broken fence in the back section of the ride on the rapids and turns.
We waited longer for this ride than Boulder Dash (and all the other rides) and the lines were crowded and hot only to be sorely disappointed at the end. I expected a longer ride with some more dips but it was just a short meander to the plunge, which was no big deal - you get soaked is all. They could have made it longer and more interesting, but I'.m sure kids will love it. I wouldn'.t make this ride a priority.
This was an aliright log flume. Not one of my favorites but the scenery is great. The mountain is cool and the drop is soaking.
Good log flume. The dual loading platform really helped and the layout was unique as it moved along the mountain, but it did stay along the mountain. Also, the ride traveled through a bunch of trees up there and the drop was pretty good as well and I came off pretty wet.
I love this log flume. Its cool how it takes a while to get to the edge of the flume the anticipation just keeps building up.
Saw Mill Plunge is a nice log flume, and it uses Lake Compounces natural terrain to its advantage. Log flumes are always a fun ride and this one is no exception, but its not as good as other log flumes. Despite how Saw Mill Plunge has a dual loading platform, I still found the logs were dispatched rather slowly, possibly due to a lack of logs. That results in a wait usually around 20-30 minutes on a weekday. As for the ride, you begin by ascending up a hill along the mountain. Then concealed by many trees you meander around the course. I found that you wind around on the mountain for a pretty long time before slowly riding up to the finale, a drop of the mountain. Like most log flumes, the drop was fun but nothing to rave about. During the drop you are sprayed by a jet of water that hits your face on the way down. You dont get too wet, but still a fun ride for the entire family.
Sawmill Plunge is pretty much an average flume ride, but the cool setting makes me give it a 7. It goes up on the same hill as Boulder Dash and gives one of the only good views of BDs first drop. It also seemed like the current of the water was a bit quicker on this flume than others. The drop was standard and you get a bit wet but not soaked. The line didnt appear to be long but it loads pretty slowly and the ride ops were only putting two people in each log, which made the wait longer.
the setting is great and the layout ok. The drop is steep and quick. You get a reasonably good splash but you got get hit much.
This flume goes up into the mountain and uses the surrounding scenery to its advantage, but at times the water level can be really low so that the boat is scraping the bottom of the trough. Theres only one moderate drop, but it gets you wet enough without over-doing it.
I got SOAKED on this ride. Im not a fan of the plastic trough though. I appriciate that this may have been the only option with their layout, but it drops my rating. I enjoyed the ride through the trees, and the drenching. I also found the station to be very nice for loading and unloading.
