I chickened because ov the heartbeat
The Whacky Shack is a track guided ride. It is nicely decorated and well maintained. It is average speed, it is fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and long duration.
So cool, so home made feeling, such a weird smell. I liked this a lot more than I expected, my friend and I laughed our way through this one and probably would have ridden again if we had more than an hour to spend in the park.
The cars were comfortable, the ride was intentionally cheezy, but the effects were still interesting, unique, and kept me guessing a little. The ride is also quite long. A real crowd pleaser. Unfortunately, the line can get quite long, but while I was in line there was a show going on at a nearby stage, that helped me pass the time.
A better than average dark ride. I suggest you ride this first when you get to the park as the line is slow moving. I also love the voice warning riders not to throw anything (see SLFAKEs review for the exact quote). The effects are pretty good but not scary. There are air blasts, the infamous car effect but my favorite part was the long hallway with multiple doors with square cutouts that gave the illusion that the hallway was shrinking.
Fun stuff, definately worth a trip around. I couldnt stop laughing at it. Old school, but really cheesey.
A decent dark ride that seems pretty well maintained. Is not going to be a Knoebels experience, but still good for the type. You get "hit" by a car which for me is always a huge plus. Another nice experience at a very nice park.
Times ridden: 1 ~ Ride experience 6 ~ Layout/effects: 6 ~ Fun factor: low/medium ~ Landscaping: 5 ~ Evaluation: A decent dark ride, Wacky Shack is way too predictable, but fun nonetheless.
Okay, so I am biased... it is an old school dark ride, so automatically I give it a 5. Nothing really scary in there, but a few parts taht caused screams of surprise if not of fright. One laughable part... that "spooky" voice warning kids to behave and not throw anything in the ride... "or else you may lose your wrist band... maybe with your arm still attached."
