This was my first freefall experience 11 years ago. That first day I rode the Tower of Doom about 20 times. I couldn't get enough. Everytime I go to the park, I have to ride the Tower of Doom or my day isn't complete.

This is your usual Intamin Drop Tower. I like them a lot. Seriously, what park doesnt have either a drop tower or a.. a... u know a launched tower?

Section two, the side that faces Boomerang, was always flaking out whenever it was in operation. This has sense been fixed at the end of the 05 season.

Im always impressed at how effective these Intamin drop towers are. This one has no gimmicks like revolving or tilting seats. You dont get dropped and bounced and shot up and dropped again. It is simply a lift to the top and a fall back down. If it sounds boring, its not! This is a nice tall tower, the lift to the top is exciting, and the freefall drop is excellent. These rides provide an outstanding airtime sensation that seems to last much longer than the duration would indicate.

It is a very fun drop tower, but it just doesnt beat out Acrophobia in my books. While the loading times are really fast, I really like being tilted out. I would give it an 8, but the jolt at the top before you drop takes away the surprise.

Funny. I skipped it on my first visit to the park, figuring that a drop tower is so simplistic it must be boring. And it is extraordinarily simple: a slow ride up, and a fast ride down. No turns, no flips, no tunnels. But every drop we did was more terrifying than anything else at SFEG. I suppose on a regular coster you can see the track laid out on front of you, so you have an idea of whats coming next. What you see here instead are the snow-covered Rockies 60 miles away -- you cant see the tower either above you or below.

This is a typical intamin drop tower deserving an 8. The lift is really fast and at the top of the 220 ft tower your car jults a little and then drops. Fail safe magnetic brakes cusion your decent and after that the rides over. I like this better then Power Tower because it seems a bit more thrilling (probably because of the abrupt dropping sensation). One problem with this ride is that you can tell when your about to drop because the car shakes a little. Ride early in the morning before the line gets long (get the side facing boomerang). One side of the tower is always broken so the line can get pretty long. Dont miss while at Elitchs!

I almost wet myself on this ride! I rode it at night and was scared out of my mind! I love these drop towers. Theyre such a simple concept but they provide such a rush. I hope one day we get one at the Great Escape.
