This is a different log flume in that you feel more you a gliding or sleading down the hill rather than falling. Like a steady fall instead of a fast fall. I loved that.

And the winner for most rides containing the word "Thunder" in their name goes to......drum roll please.....Dorney Park! Along with Thuder Canyon and Thunderhawk, this ride completes the rumbling trifecta. Joking aside, Thunder Creek Mountain, although containing that much overused Dorney word, is a fantastic log flume that is one of the more unique ones I have ridden. I will say that of the "Thunder names", I like this one the best. The location is perfect, with most of the ride's course hidden from view (unless exiting Hydra), and the station looks nice. The loading process with the dual sides is very efficient and keeps waits minimal. The ride itself is a total blast with a nice course that makes great use of the terrain and weaves through areas lined with trees, creating a scenic ride. The surprise waterfall totally caught me off guard during my first ride and is a very unique feature for a flume ride (although on cooler days it is kept off). The drop, though shallow, is actually pretty good as it lets the log pick up some good speed before splashing down. I ended up pretty wet each time, and got wetter on this flume than most. The fun and unique ride that Thunder Creek Mountain provides vaults it to near the top of my list as far as log flumes are concerned. This one nicely rounds out the stellar water ride lineup that Dorney brings to the table.

Very good and unique log flume that really surprised me. Waits are virtually non-existant for this thanks to its dual loading station and many logs. The ride was pretty long and traveled low to the ground and provided great views of Hydra along the way. Also, there was a completely unexpected waterfall during the ride that got me pretty wet and following that was a very long and not very steep drop along the side of the hill that allowed the log to gain some serious speed and cause a good splash that got me pretty wet.

WARNING!! This is not your average flume. This ride will get you fucking drenched. I mean like almost not a dry spot on you drenched. Guess in the world of water rides, thats a good thing. The drop sucks though.

A great flume with a unique splash that will get riders wet. Love how the drop follows the contour of the hill making at difficult to see from elsewhere in the park.

By far, one of the best looking rides in dorney park. The way its formed on the hill, is amazing. It gives you a good view of Hydra, and parts of steel force. The logs are nice, easy to fit in. The "big" drop is very fun. This is the perfect example of bigger doesnt always mean better. Its not steep, nor is it very tall. Regardless, its ALOT of fun, and you cant help but get back in line. My only complaint is the lift hill. Its loud, shakes the car alot, and it made me feel sick just going up it. My friend with me also had complaints. It doesnt last forever though, and therest of the ride is a blast. well deserved 9. would be a 10 if it didnt have the horrible lift.

When thinking about Dorney’s Thunder Creek Mountain, the one word that pops into my mind is cozy. It hugs the gentle slope and is carved right into the hill itself. All around you trees provide comforting shade. Everything about it has a snug feeling to it. You catch a nice breeze atop the little hill and can relax in the shade until it’s time for the descent. All riders, including the ones in the back, get a little shower along the way just before the gentle drop into a pool below. Nobody gets drenched, but everyone gets a damp shirt which is perfect for cooling off.

Excellent log flume and definitely one of the best ones out there. The ride looks great as it hugs the side of a hill, and the station looks great as well. Despite it being 100 degrees when I visited, this never had a wait longer than 5 minutes thanks to its high capacity caused by the dual station. The flume was pretty long to boot, and it began with a lift hill. After that were various turns that gave some good views of Steel Force and Hydra. Eventually there was a small, unavoidable waterfall followed by a long and unique drop. Its pretty tall, but not very steep at all, which really allows it to build up good speed on the way down and I got really wet at the bottom too.

A classic log flume with some added little drops that I havent seen on very many others. Some of those little dips can get you qutie wet. For Dorney Park, which is mostly just paved-over, the landscaping is surprisingly decent. The last drop is not steep but is long and will get you wet.
