This ride has so much potential, but ultimately it was a big disappointment. The ride itself looks great and the landscaping around the ride looks great as well. I really liked the water effects and they got riders completely soaked, but the ride itself was dull. The ride spun incredibly slow and the tower also moved very slow, allowing for no forces and basically no thrill. The cycle was pretty short as well.

Timber Tower is certainly not the most thrilling, dizzying, or nauseating ride ever to be created. Its not extremely tall, it doesnt spin all that fast, and the tilting isnt as exciting as might be expected. However, the ride gets points for several other of its qualities. First, it is unique, the only ride of this type that Ive been on. Second, it looks very good, both because it is different and because of its theming. The lumber theme really works here, and the beaver animatronics had me laughing while riding. Third, the ride provides a great view of Mystery Mine and, especially, Thunderhead. Finally, the water interaction was kind of neat, if perhaps a little hit-or-miss. I think I rode the first cycle of the day, and the water barely sprayed the bottom of my shoes. Later in the day, I saw the water jets blatantly drenching every inch of the riders. I guess it depends on how much of a soaking you like, but I think Dollywood should set the jets at a more consistent, happy medium.

Well.....The theming for the ride was beyond expectations.....The Overall Wow of how the ride performs was decent....but to say the least...the ride itself was fun...but not great. It reminded me in a way of the Dizzy Disk on the other end of the park. With the Turning and the feel. It will get you wet, especially when the cannons are up as high as they will go. I would suggest anyone who hasnt ridden it to ride it, but in my own opinion it really isnt all it is cracked up to be. Just another flat. They would have been better off to have built a drop tower that is about three times that height and saved about a million dollars off the cost of that one.

Timber Tower is not a bad ride, Its just a tame one. Its very well themed with water effects, sounds, and animatronics, but it lacks the extreme thrill that everyone was expecting. The small children, however, had a great time.ROFL

Wow, I am surprised to see such negative reviews of what I found to be fun and unique ride. Dollywood has the only ride like this in the U.S. As for people being disappointed, everyone I saw getting off the ride loved it! I got drenched everytime I rode it, loved the theming, and thought it was thrilling, fun and VERY unique.

I always find it disappointing when a theme park puts in a "major attraction" that turns out to be a ride that has the potential to be found in any traveling carnival (although Ive never seen this particular ride in a fair). This goes for any park, whether it be Dollywood or Disney. This ride looked like it could have been folded up and fit into two semi-trucks minus the theming. The ride itself wasnt all that thrilling either. It lifted you up slowly, started spinning you around slowly, and then began tilting slowly. I think the finalie of the ride was supposed to be when the fountains surrounding the ride got high enough to touch a few of the riders feet. That was the "you WILL get wet" part of the ride. Timber tower also had only one ride attenedant helping load everyone into the ride, so it went very slowly. Like 5 to 10 minutes between each ride cycle. The ride itself sucked, but Im giving it a few points for the very basic theming that was added (spitting beavers and bear noises).

Im the first one to review this ride and what a disappointment, This felt like a kiddie ride instead of the amazing new ride that it was suppose to be. It felt like it was on snail speed for the entire time! I see people getting on this ride with huge smiles. I see them get off very dissappointed. I gave this a seven mainly because of the nice landscaping and work on the pool and water jets around the tower. Im going back in a few days and Ill hopefully give this a better rating. Oh, but they were showing a video for the Mystery Mine they are building. It looks like its going to be great!
