This ride is a classic and should not be missed when you visit Knotts. If you go during Christmas or Halloween they decorate it for the occasion and that makes it even more fun.

Even though its older than a lot of flumes out there, its certainly still one of the best. The mountain theming was excellent and I love how the ride works around it. The scenes, while old, added to the ride still and made it more interesting. This was a pretty long long log flume as well and I loved the sudden drop in the dark, as it was steep and pretty quick. The final drop was tall, and while it wasnt steep, it was pretty fast and I got pretty wet at the bottom.

This is the best log flume Ive been on and its always one of the first rides we go on at Knotts. The line itself is fantastic, you get to wait underneath some waterfalls. The surprise drop is great, even after riding it tons of times you still seem to forget when its coming, the theme works well and the ride itself is very smooth, you get to look out at Knotts which is cool when you come around a bend on the outside, but most of the ride is inside the mountain-like structure. The end drop is fantastic, we always get great pictures and the good part is that you get wet (usually only the person in the front seat, so always grab that!) but not SOAKED so you can go on this at the beginning and not have to worry about being wet all day. Great ride overall!

Surprisingly good. Unlike the quick/boring layout of flume rides common at 6 Flags parks, this one is a long, heavily themed ride. The animatronics mostly dont move, but theyve got a certain cheesy charm, especially the bears and dangling logs. It has a preliminary drop in complete darkness thats cool. It delivers a decent splash and is a lot of fun. Its one drawback is that the final drop is on the short side. Still, for log flumes its surpassed only by Ripsaw Falls and Splash Mountain.

This thing was great!!! Though the animatronics and scenes were obviously older than most of its riders, I believe that adds to the intrigue of this ride. It has a long ride time. The log moves comfortable through the river and doesnt jerk around the corners. The surprise drop in the dark is great and completely hidden. The final drop isnt anything impressive and doesnt get you very wet if at all. Make sure you make a goofy pose for the camera right before you enter the station. Though it on paper doesnt compare at all to Dudleys at IOA, I think I liked it just as much.

A solid log flume. Even on the busiest days, this ride never has a wait over 30 minutes. The first drop takes place in a pitch black tunnel. Its almost impossible to know when you are about to drop. After the first drop, you float past a few anamatronics and climb up a large hill. You drop down and get a little wet. You float into the station, damp but not soaked.

Yes, the effects are out of date. Yes, the drop could never even begin to compare to larger flumes like Dudley Do-Right. With that said, I think this ride is great. It is a classic from the moment you get in line. The theming is great and charming. Although most of the rides characters dont move and the storyline is vague, I think this ride is hard to hate. The ride is long and has a pretty fast pace. The indoor drop is great and I love all of the show scenes starting with the extended lift into the mountain and ending with the journey up the mine shaft.

This is a classic Knotts ride, and really a good log flume in general. The final drop is definitely not huge, and you wont get really wet, though there is an unexpectedly good drop mid-way through the ride as well. The duration and theming are what make this ride work so well. You get a look at what it would have been like to lead a lumberjack lifestyle around the beginning of the 20th century. Aside from the logging, there are nice scenes depicting forests and their animal life. I rode this during the winter holidays, when it was rethemed as Elf Mountain Christmas. Elves were working in their shops making toys, the outside scenes were dominated by snowmen, then we went through Mrs. Claus kitchen. On the lift hill before the final drop, we could see Santa on his sleigh with his reindeer, high above a town. This was nice, though I prefer the original theme the best (this gets yet a different, scary theme during Halloween).
