The Spring is a vertical tower. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.

Looming high above the midway, the Spring is Seabreeze’s drop tower. Is it a S&S creation? No. Intamin? No. Rather it is a Moser creation. More specifically, it is one of their family towers. While Moser drop towers unfortunately lack height, they pack quite the punch. The Spring ultimately is the prototypical Moser tower. Standing about 30 feet tall, the Spring sports a vibrant paint scheme of pink, sky blue, and pastel yellow, and personally I think that it looks great where it is at the park.

Capacity wise, the Spring probably boasts a rather low hourly capacity due to it only seating 10 riders per cycle. However, the ride’s very short cycle and low ridership ultimately allowed this to be a one cycle wait at most during my visit, but generally it was a walk-on more often than not. Additionally, the operators I had really loaded the Spring quickly.

Once restrained by the comfortable over-the-shoulder restraint, the ride begins by lifting to the apex of the tower. Then without even a brief pause, the ride begins its rapid descent, which consists of 3 quick bounces. While the falls themselves are probably only about 10 feet in length, they provide an amazing stomach-dropping sensation and even some brief pops of air. Following these 3 bounces, the ride ascends back to the tower two more times and repeats this process again. Unfortunately, the entire cycle is probably less than a minute in length.

Overall, the Spring is a very enjoyable ride that I would love to see in any park’s lineup. What the Spring lacks in height is made up for by its quick, thrilling drops. As mentioned earlier, the ride unfortunately has an incredibly quick cycle which is one of only two flaws I can think of with the ride. The second flaw is the lack of a full drop. The Moser Towers I’ve been on at Lake Compounce and Rye Playland each gave two or three full drops after the bouncing segments featured on the Spring. This certainly would have made the ride much more fulfilling and complete. With that being said, the Spring is a great ride for anyone to hit while at Seabreeze since it proves that size doesn’t always matter.

What this ride lacks in height, it makes up for with some air and a long smooth ride cycle. A good transition ride for kids looking to get into some more adventurous ride situations.

This ride is actually quite fun. Theres never a line so you can ride it two or three times in a row without waiting at all. It may be small, but there is some good airtime here.
