Finally got to ride this excellent Gravity Group coaster back in June of 2018. And it was insane! From the first drop out of the station to the underground tunnel and 90 degree banking to the barrel roll and beyond 90 degree banked turn, this coaster was a wild ride. I definitely recommend it!

Very odd that nobody has written a critique about this ride since it became Hades 360 in 2013. I went on this ride for the first time once on 07/25/2014. The line went slightly past the bottom of the stairs. The line was 45 minutes long, which was amazaing as it was cold and clouds were all around us. I have never been on a smoother wooden roller coaster. Okay, this isn't a wooden coaster in the classical sense, but as a hybrid it is VERY smooth. The beginning of the ride was the best part to me. You are in for a suprise I have never experienced on another wooden roller coaster. Once you finally go up the lift you go down a fast steep drop. This coaster feels really fast. It currently goes 60 m.p.h., but it felt much faster. I am sure I will ride this several more times this year. If you are anywhere near Wisconsin Dells you have to ride this ride!

Hades is a wood twister hybrid roller coaster. It was built in 2005 by the Gravity Group. It is 136' tall, 4,726' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.

Great woodie that once was a record breaking coaster. it is the largest coaster in the park and in my opinion is the best.

My second Gravity Group coaster, Hades comes in as my second favorite coaster at Mt. Olympus. Interestingly, the most unique aspect of this ride is undoubtedly the pitch-black tunnel below the parking lot that you traverse twice, and it is this element that actually causes Hades to lose a point or so for me. The darkness is certainly complete as nothing can be seen of the elements that you are navigating, but I found this to actually be disappointing for a couple of reasons. First, you cannot see the crazy elements that you are riding through, so that the 90-degree turn and other features are somewhat lost. In addition, the darkness makes it almost impossible to prepare for these elements, especially on the first few circuits, which increases the pain associated with what is an aggressive, if not really rough, coaster. As with Voyage, Hades cannot really be described as rough, but it is not especially smooth either, especially the last portion of the ride after the large airtime hill that you hit when you get back parkside.
As a side note, it was cool to see that some of the same characteristics that I remember from Voyage were present here too, including the smell of the coaster itself, particularly in the tunnels, and the immense intensity of the final act, as both Gravity Group creations seem to be at their most ferocious in the closing moments. In the end, Hades does not quite possess some of the epic qualities that Voyage does, nor does it have the “lower gear” that most other wooden coasters have, especially at the end of the ride. The net result it a forceful and power-packed woodie that lacks the degree of grandeur that Voyage has and the refinement that characterize at least some of the layout of most other coasters.

Hades is the most unique coaster I have been on. The beginning of the ride is fun with a nice dip right out of the station. The lift hill was fast and you get a good view. The drop was very good and the tunnel was a lot of fun. I have no idea what was going on since it was pitch black, but I could really feel the speed. The way back was good as well with some good hills and head chopper effects. I did not like the ending however. It was very rough, and uncomfortable. I felt like I was going to pass out from the g&#39.s and I did not like how the seats only came up to your mid back. A wood coaster this intense should really have head support. Overall very unique and very fast. Just hang on towards the end.

Hades was so intense that when the ride was over, the skirt I was wearing was around my stomach. It was a really sweet ride but I agree the part coming back was quite rough, but the drop in your stomach as everything goes pitch black is priceless. There were several extremely thrilling moments. I really enjoyed it.

Ill start off by saying that this is the best coaster in the Dells, quite an acomplishment with Avalanche down the road. That being said, the best way for me to describe Hades is a runaway train through hell. Even before the lift, Hades flies over various hills so gracefully giving some good air along the way. Oh yeah, the first drop was incredible as well as it launched me from my seat and then came the best tunnel of any coaster. Inside the pitch-black tunnel was a mix of ejector air, break-neck speed, and insane turns. Then came two great air time stuffed hills and then back into the insane tunnel, doing everything that happened the first time. Then came a spectacular finale packed with strong Gs and delightful air time. Hades really is a ride through hell!

Such a pleasure of a wooden coaster, incorporating suspense, speed, raw force and a great sense of fluidity in all the right places. To begin with, although Hades, as with all of Mt. Olympus coasters, runs only one train, the rider turnover is decent enough. But onto the ride details.

Expecting the hell-for-leather dip under the parking lot, the first hill climb is daunting, to say the least - this is a tallish woodie, and the dip is steep - threatening even before you get out of your car, announcing its presence right at the edge of the lot. Quite something. The drop itself is something beautiful - right into solid darkness, with myriad twists, laterals, hops and unknowns all along. Truly disorienting - it actually took me a third round on this coaster to feel out where the 90 degree banked turns were. And they, along with the rest of the tunnels elements, are an absolute joy. Spitting forth from the tunnels, the coaster is suitably aggressive out-of-doors as well, with more beauteous banks and smooth dives. At one point, the train storms alongside the loading platform, heading straight into an absolutely poetic - visually and sensually - banked turn - you will see it from the platform clearly, giving you a tease of what is to come.

As with all great woodies, I recommend highly that you give this one at least two rides - one in front, one in back. The front has its share of thrill, but the back is another animal entirely. There is some fantastic lift from the seat along the initial drop, and the coursing trail through the black tunnels is balls-out FUN. Anyway you decide to attack it, this coaster comes with my seal of approval - ride and be amazed.

Been on this one only once, a couple years ago, but it was pretty good. A long coaster with some good drops. Not bad for being wooden.
