Its true, on the ground the High Roller would be pretty tame. But this coaster is not on the ground. At over 100 stories above the ground, even a kiddie coaster becomes somewhat imposing. The Stratosphere tower is such an amazing thrill ride stop, and while the High Roller is certainly its weakest offering, its still worth a ride. The coaster essentially spirals around the tower three times, and you get to travel the circuit twice. Its not very banked, steep, or fast, and there are the unnecessary over-the-shoulder restraints that did actually bump my head a couple times. However, how can you not enjoy saying youve been on the worlds highest coaster? It looks as though I just got in under the wire for this one, as there are reports of this ride being closed at the end of the year (just a couple of days away).
Well, this ride was preety sucky, probably my least favorite coaster. Its practically a kiddie ride, but I heard teenage girls screaming, so people have different views of the ride which is ok, but I didnt like this. High Roller might be slightly better on the Empire State Building, with the same layout, but Vegas, I think, looks better at night. Not even my mom screamed on this. She screamed on Big Shot and X Scream (especially X Scream). Its always at least a bit sad to see a coaster go, but interesting to wonder whatll be its replacement, and thats the case here. I guess Im one of the last guys to review it. Bye bye, High Roller.
On the ground, this would be pure kiddie coaster material. But it wraps around the Stratospheres observation deck, 108 stories up, adding a bit more thrill (a lot more if youre afraid of heights in any way) and a decent view - though nothing like the one from Big Shot. Its actually kind of a laid back ride, and only a couple bucks more if youre up on the tower for other rides/the view. Not great, but worth a go.
This is pretty worthless. It seems like it would be scary but you cant see over the edge so the effect is lost. It goes real slow and is kind of shaky. Only redeeming factor is that it is "The Worlds Highest Coaster".
I had to try this, as I bought the unlimited ride package for the day. I was disappointed. It wasnt particularly quick. The only thing I enjoyed was the view. Of course, I could have gotten that from the tower admission on its own.
Ill give a 3 only because of the fact that is very high above the strip. I make frequent trips to Las Vegas and for the longest time it seemed to be broken everytime that I was there. Then, finally, I got the chance to ride it. I dont know why I expected more considering I could see most of the track before I rode it. Okay but not great.
This ride looks like fun from the ground but its really not. This ride is preeety short but you get to go around the circuit twice. It seemed long but its probably because you go around twice. Why do you need OTSRS though? It seemed intimidating but really wasnt. I kept expecting it to have a big drop but it never did. One advantage is the great views of las vegas and saying you rode the worlds tallest coaster. Ride big shot or X scream.
Well it wasn`t that bad I`ve been on better but it was pretty fun.I wish it had a couple loops though
This ride, if on the ground would be considered a horrible piece of crud. But with it so high up, well that gives it some bonus points! It feels like flying! But one suggestion, they should put lap bars instead if the over the shoulder restraints, that would make the ride that much more fun! The consept is great, and I love the idea Buffman gave, about it being a wild mouse coaster, now I would pay to ride that!
this ride is not that good. the only good thing about it is where it is placed.
