Another good arrow. I would rate this an 5. But since both cars go foward now, I only give it an 4.

One of the most enjoyable rides in the park.
Quite rerideable, the out-and-back layout lends itself to good air on almost every hill, and the racing aspect is always fun. Both tracks are pretty comparable, neither sticks out in my mind as the better side. Arguably the best woodie at the park, it is definitely worth a ride, and, barring a long line, preferably a ride on each side.

The last time i rode this coaster the King Cobra was still around. I really enjoyed the Racer. First off I am a big fan of the out & backs, being an airtime fanatic more so than a lateral heavy twister coaster. And during this time the Racer and the Beast featured my favorite restraint system on the PTC trains that I love, the ever dissappearing buzz bars. So this coaster featured massive airtime. Backwards was a pretty intense thrill not knowing when to expect the airtime hills. And the racing acpect on top of that! Forget it! This is a classic world class coaster in my opinion. Long live the John Allen Coasters!!

Decent racing coaster, but ultimately I was a tad disappointed. The racing element was pretty good on this one, but the ride was just very slow in my opinion. The train just crawled over a lot of the hills in my opinion and therefore only a few of the hills gave some air. Forwards was very smooth, but backwards was quite rough.

This ride is very jerky and Ive only rode backwards. I think that the ride is way to bumpy and when your going up the hill you can feel where the chain is pulling you up. Its not very fun going up. Overall the ride is very good but a little bumpy for me.

The Racer was ok. Im generally mixed on which side of these rides I prefer - forwards or backwards - but I gotta say I enjoyed the forwards side better in this case. It didnt quite seem as rough to me, unlike Thunder Road last year which was the opposite. Racer is a typical Allen in that it has a pretty looking layout and modest airtime over the gentle-shaped hills. A fair ride, probably the best wood in the park.

I ride this once every visit and I always have to go to the bathroom when its over because it just shakes you soooooooo badly...lol. Ive rode this frontwards and backwards and actually prefer backwards. Not my favorite ride by any means but still a good solid old woodie.

This is a solid coaster. Unfortunately, the day that I rode, only the forward side was running, so my review may not be entirely complete. It was a fun ride but nothing that was truly unique or memorable.

Oh, how I miss the Racer. This John Allen classic, the first coaster I ever rode, is a shadow of its former self. Paramount should be indefinitely detained in Guantanamo Bay for allowing this to fall into disrepair. The back seat is now barely rideable as it has a penchant for savagely smashing your back at the bottom of the first drop. The ride also pathetically shuffles from side to side as it slowly creeps out of the station towards the lift hill. The Racer is also sorely in need of a paint job. How much could that really cost? This still has the most airtime of any ride in the park, but far less than it used to wield. When the Racer had buzzbars and no seatbelts the airtime was so good you practically stood up for most of the return run, especially in the back seat. Sadly, Cedar Fair is not likely to invest in restoring this ride. As far as I know, they are not known for keeping woodies in top form.

WHy do people keep saying it doesnt race when it does? The backwards side always wins though, because when you sit in the back it actually adds more pressure to the front end so it goes faster! Sitting in the fron tof this is really whack bceause you see the track coming out underneath you! Its a lot of fun but really bumpy. My friend and I went on it today thoguh and It didnt feel bumpy it all, which was very odd.
